2022-06-18 22:48:09 The military wing of the Islamic Jihad announces a military exercise

After about a month and a half of silence, Abu Hamza, the spokesman for the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, returned tonight with the following announcement:

"We will be launching a military exercise that will span several days and include rocket fire."

The name chosen for this military exercise is "عزم الصادقين" ("The determination of the righteous").

Abu Hamza made his announcement at 21:00 tonight, the time of death of Baha'a Abu Al-Ata, the prominent commander in the organization's military wing who Israel killed in a targeted strike in 2019. Open / Comment

2022-06-18 12:16:52 Exchange of fire between the Gaza Strip and Israel this morning

At 03:10 (last night) sirens were heard in the Israeli city of Ashkelon following the launch of a rocket from the Gaza Strip (which was intercepted by an Iron Dome system).

At 06:30, the IDF responded by attacking Hamas' Saladin military post, located a the northern Gaza Strip. IDF UAVs first fired a warning shot ("Knock on the roof"), followed by nine missiles. Perpendicular fire column were seen during the attack, similar to past IDF attacks using bunker-penetrating missiles. The target of this attack appears to have been located deep underneath the military post.

At 07:03, an IDF UAV fired a single missile at a Hamas observation post in the eastern Zeitun neighborhood of Gaza City (apparently another "Knock on the roof"), ten minutes later the post was attacked again and destroyed.

At 07:27, another observation post in the east of the Zeitun neighborhood in Gaza City was attacked.

At 07:35, it was reported that another observation post, this time in the Beit Hanun area in the northern Gaza Strip, was attacked. This is probably the observation post from the clip published by the IDF. Palestinians point out that despite the attack, this observation post is still standing (attached shortly are the clip of the attack and a photo of the observation post following the attack).

Shortly afterwards, machine gun fire was reported from the Gaza Strip at the Moshav of Nativ Ha'asara. According to official Hamas statements, this was in response to the IDF's attacks.

Unofficial Gazan sources draw attention to the fact that the rocket which started the exchange of fire was fired at Ashkelon at the exact time of death of the 3 military operatives killed by the IDF in Jenin yesterday (same time, 24 hours later). Open / Comment

IDF special forces, entering the eastern neighborhoods of Jenin last night to make arrests, were confronted by three armed men in a vehicle who opened fire. An exchange of fire ensued, in which the three were killed, and another eight were injured.

The three terrorists are:
1. Bra'a Lahluh, "the Chechen" (Hamas officially claims that he is a military operative of the organization. The Islamic Jihad tends to disagree)
2. Lith Abu Srur
3. Yosef Salah

According to the Palestinians, these three men were also wanted by the PA security apparatus.

2022-06-16 21:21:43 Reports of a UAV attack on targets at the al-Tanf area in Syria, where a US base is located

An interesting report tonight from a Syrian rebel group sheltered in the American
"Forbidden Territory" in A-Tanf, near the Syria-Jordan-Iraq border triangle.

According to the rebels own reports, some of its positions in the area were attacked using unidentified UAVs, causing minor damage to property.

There's an American base surrounded by a 55 km radius no-fly and no entry zone in the a-Tanf area, where the same Syrian rebel group resides.

According to estimates the attack was carried out by an Iranian proxy, some claim as a message to the US and Israel.

It should be noted that in the past, Syrians sources reported that Israeli fighter jets flew over Jordan and a-Tanf when attacking targets in central Syria. Open / Comment
