The placement test for Generation 16 will be conducted OFFLINE at the end of August. The test is aimed at identifying the level of English.

• I will teach students only in English, so their level should be at least upper intermediate.

• If the level is intermediate, candidates will be taught by teachers whose overall scores are 7.5-8.0 either in the Uzbek language or in Russian.

More info will be provided later today...

Sarvinoz Atanazarova, a 17-year-old Intellectual, took the IELTS test on July 7, and 13 days later she got her results:

Speaking 8.0
Listening 8.0
Reading 8.5
Writing 6.0

We decided to apply for remark since lots of her essays had been checked, and we were sure that she'd get at least 6.5 in writing, which would give her band 8.0 overall.
Sarvinoz sent the application form to the IELTS Test Centre on July 21, and after 8 more days she finally received the message that her score changed!
Her writing score increased from 6.0 to 7.0, and overall became 8.0!

On behalf of all Intellectuals, let me congratulate you, Sarvinoz, on this amazing achievement!
Not only will this score help you enroll at the university that you'll choose next year, but it'll also motivate many of your peers to strive for success that you've achieved!

2022-06-21 20:17:43 Don't use HOWEVER and WHILE in the same way.
HOWEVER is used at the beginning of a sentence to contrast with the previous sentence.
WHILE is used to contrast two ideas in the same sentence.

It is considered by some that being a university graduate is the key to securing a well-paid job, however, others believe that it is better to have work experience.

2022-06-20 21:10:56 Many students tell me they can answer 30+ questions in IELTS Listening while practising AT HOME. The problem is that some of them get a lower score when they sit a mock test, let alone the IELTS test itself. There is nothing surprising as the reason of this problem is tension, which affects mental processes of candidates.

Emotions are often underestimated, and if one gets a lower score in IELTS Listening, this person may blame himself/herself for not being smart. In fact, some candidates achieve less than they've expected because they can't control their emotions. Intellect isn't the only factor that contributes to failure.

Few people feel disappointed if some questions remain unanswered in the Listening test when practising at home. They simply continue working without negative emotions if something goes wrong. But everything changes in the real exam. If one answer isn't found, candidates start panicking and often miss the following answers as a result, constantly thinking about that damned answer. All they need is to let it go and focus on the remaining questions. Emotions can be very destructive if they aren't taken into account during the IELTS preparation course. One missed answer can seriously demotivate a candidate.

To sum it up, I recommend to imagine that the IELTS test is just another practice test done at home, and if some question turns out to be too hard, one should carry on listening and find the rest of the answers.

I don't think many of you watch The Simpsons...but this episode deserves your attention. It reveals problems related to high intelligence.
P.S. the episode is inspired by "Flowers for Algernon", the novel that I uploaded a year ago.
