2022-02-16 23:27:25 The rest is there, in the Hereafter, in the meeting with Allaah, in the obedience of Allaah, in the remembrance of Allaah. Anyone who searches for rest in anything other than this is a Miskeen (wretched and miserable)! Such a person is treading a wrong path, and he is going in the wrong direction.

People who were alive yesterday were buried today, and those who are alive today will be buried tomorrow. Those who are alive today prayed the funeral prayer for those who passed away yesterday, and those who will be alive tomorrow will pray the funeral prayer for those who have passed away today.

{That was a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do.}
[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 134, 141]

Remember death and most of your worries will fade away!
Remember death and the comfort of this world will become meaningless!
Remember death and the objects of this world will become worthless!

2022-02-16 23:27:25 Allaah تعالى compared the life if this world to vegetation, which is pleasing in the beginning but at the end it dries up and turns into straw. Similarly, Allaah تعالى explained the cycle of a human being, from a weakling he turns to be strong, only to become weak and feeble in his old age.

{Allaah is He Who created you in (a state of) weakness, then gave you strength after weakness, then after strength gave (you) weakness and grey hair. He creates what He wills. And it is He Who is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful (i.e., Able to do all things).}
[Surah al-Room (30): 54]

The one who understood the reality of this life will know that there is no escape from these hardships, distress, and sorrows. So, he accepts Allaah’s Decree and waits patiently for the relief. Look at the biography of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he was tried severely, he suffered hunger and thirst, he did not live a luxurious life, he did not live in palaces and mansions, all his children died in his lifetime except for Faatimah رضي الله عنها who passed away 6 months after his ﷺ death, he was expelled from his city, his Companions were punished in front of him, his uncle Hamzah was killed in Uhud, he himself was injured on the battle of Uhud and his tooth got broken, and he and his Companions had to migrate. Yet with all this, he ﷺ lived a life free from worries, because he knew how worthless this world is, and he knew about the promise of Allaah which never fails, and he had complete Trust in Allaah. Allaah تعالى did not make this world a place of recompense for his Auliyaa. Their true reward is waiting for them in the Hereafter. This is why when the Prophet ﷺ was given a choice to live a longer life in this world or to choose the Hereafter, and he ﷺ chose to meet his Lord سبحانه وتعالى.

When the Prophet ﷺ fell ill in his fatal illness, he started saying: ❝With the highest companions (in Paradise).❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree]

When the Prophet ﷺ was healthy, he ﷺ used to say: ❝No soul of a Prophet is captured till he is shown his place in Paradise and then he is given the option.❞ When death approached him ﷺ while his head was on my thigh, he became unconscious and then recovered his consciousness. He then looked at the ceiling of the house and said: ❝O Allaah! (with) the highest companions.❞ I said (to myself): "Hence, he is not going to choose us." And I realized that what he had said was the application of the narration which he used to mention to us when he was healthy. The last word he ﷺ spoke was: ❝O Allaah! (with) the highest companion.❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim]

How many people became old, weak, and feeble bodied, down with illnesses and diseases - because of their attachment to this worldly life. Sorrow, anxiety, distress, etc., are a result of this attachment. People are either worried of what will happen tomorrow, or they are sad because of what they lost yesterday. They complain saying: “I am in debts”, “my kids are disobedient”, “I am afflicted with illness”, etc. This is what has been decreed in the life of this world. We will all be tested with fear, will suffer pain, will be afflicted with illnesses, lose wealth and properties. There is no comfort, relaxation, or rest except in the Hereafter.

A person from Khurasaan came to Imaam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal رحمه الله and said: “O Abu Abdullaah! I came all the way from Khurasaan to ask you about a matter.” Imaam Ahmad said: “Ask!” The man said: “When will a person taste (true) relaxation?” He replied: ❝When he will take the first step into the Jannah.❞
[Tabaqqat al-Hanaabilah (1/293)]

A person was asked: “When will we get to rest?” He replied: “When the Siraat (bride over the Hell-fire) is behind us!” (i.e., after we have crossed it!)

2022-02-16 23:27:24 O my brothers and sisters!

Allaah has Decreed and Preordained that every individual will face trials:

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ

{And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits…}
[Surah al-Baqarah (2):155]

And Allaah تعالى created us into a life of Kabad:

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ

{Verily, We have created man into [a life of] pain, toil and trial.}
[Surah al-Balad (90): 4]

In this life, there are no exceptions, every person will taste hardships and trials. He will have his share of distress and sorrow. This is his share of this worldly life. The beauty will be changed into ugly, the sweet to sour, the good to evil, the pleasant to bad, the joy to sadness. What goes up must come down. The nations which rose high fell, and the strong got conquered, the royals were debased, the rich were made poor.

So, one should not look for permanent comfort in this world. He should work for attaining a place closer to Allaah in the Jannah. For what is in this world will perish, but what is with Allaah is everlasting.

{All that is with you is bound to come to an end, whereas that which is with Allaahh is everlasting.}
[Surah al-Nahl (16): 96]

There are among us, those who are undergoing stress and sorrow, are in debts, afflicted with illness and diseases, yet they face these trials with a cheering face, with their chest expanded (free from worries), while being satisfied with the Decree of Allaah, knowing that what is here is going to perish, and what is there is everlasting, and knowing that he was not send into this world except to use it as a means to reach the Hereafter.

The setting of the sun is a daily reminder to us that how every day comes to an end, similarly, a day is coming when this world will come to an end. Whosoever understands the reality of this world will find tranquility and will be satisfied with whatever he has. But as for the one, who – whenever the world is restricted for him – starts complaining and grumbling, shows dissatisfaction, is ungrateful, raises his voice, and speaks only about the negativity in life and the hardships, the anxiety, and the sorrows, while belittling the blessings and favors he has; he should be reminded that he is treading the wrong path, and pursing in the wrong direction. He needs to be reminded that he is on the earth and not in the Jannah. The life in this world is not perfect, one will not live forever on this earth. This world is not pure, and Allaah تعالى Willed that this world be cursed, as the Prophet ﷺ had said: ❝The world, with all that it contains, is accursed except for the remembrance of Allah that which pleases Allah; and the religious scholars and seekers of knowledge.❞
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2322) and Sunan Ibn Maajah (4112) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

The majority of those who have been afflicted with distress, sorrow, hardship have not understood the reality of this world as it should be understood. Allaah تعالى said:

{Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw.}
[Surah al-Hadeed (57): 20]

2022-02-12 13:04:30 It is an honor from Allaah تعالى when He protects His slaves from falling into sins

If Allaah comes in between you and a sin, then you will overcome that desire to sin - and Allaah has saved you from falling into it.

By Allaah, the One there is no One worthy of being worshiped except Him! Allaah does not save a person from committing a sin – over which the person has the ability to carry it out – except when that person enjoys a high status with Allaah. It is an honor from Allaah that He تعالى saved him from falling into that sin.

Allaah تعالى said:

{And indeed she did desire him and he would have inclined to her desire, had he not seen the evidence of his Lord.}
[Surah Yusuf (12): 24]

Then Allaah تعالى said:

{Thus it was, that We might turn away from him evil and illegal sexual intercourse.}
[Surah Yusuf (12): 24]

It is Allaah تعالى Who had saved him from falling into that sin.

Then Allaah تعالى said:

{Surely, he was one of Our chosen, guided slaves.}
[Surah Yusuf (12): 24]

This is the status which Allaah gives to whoever of His slaves He تعالى Wills.

And be upon certainty and have assurance, that whenever Allaah تعالى protects you from falling into a sin, and you sincerely thank Allaah for that, except that Allaah تعالى will protect and save you from things that are more severe than it – in this world and the Hereafter. And He تعالى will elevate your status, purify your body and soul, and make you enter the Jannah.

The highest honor that you can enjoy with Allaah is that Allaah تعالى becomes your Walee (protector, ally) and takes charge of your affairs.

{No doubt! Verily, the Auliyaa’ of Allaah no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve - those who believed (in the Oneness of Allaah), and used to fear Allaah much (by abstaining from evil deeds and sins and by doing righteous deeds).}
[Surah Yunus (10):62-63]

And when Allaah تعالى becomes the Walee of someone, He تعالى will never allow them or their work to be lost – whether they are males or females.

A father does not allow his children to be lost (i.e., go to waste), a teacher does not allow his students to go to waste, a mother does not allow her small ones to go to waste, so, what about Allaah – the Owner of Majesty and Honor?! He تعالى will never allow His Auliyaa’ to be lost!

The highest honor that you can enjoy with Allaah is that Allaah تعالى becomes your Walee. So, get up in the nights, and offer the night prayers of whatever Allaah تعالى has allowed you to offer, and beseech Him, saying:

وتولني فِيمَن توليت

❝And turn to me in friendship among those on whom You have turned in friendship❞
[Sunan Abu Dawood (1425), Sunan al-Tirmidhee (464), Sunan al-Nasaee (1745), and Sunan Ibn Maajah (1178) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh Al-Albaanee. This Du`aa is part of Qunoot al-Witr]

What distress is going to harm you when you know that Allaah is your protector and has taken charge of your affairs?

2022-02-11 09:55:29 False Testimonies: destroying lives, ruining families, usurping wealth

PART 1: DEFINITION
Accusations: Two types:
1. True accusations:
2. False accusations:
False Testimonies:
Giving false statements is one of the biggest of the major sins, second only to Shirk:
Many people speak without giving importance to what they are saying:
The wife of Azeez falsely accusing Yusuf
To speak the truth, even if it is against oneself or near relatives:
Substantial evidence:
Speak the truth even if it is in favor of the enemy, justice is more important than personal grudge:
One of the characteristics of a Believer which Allaah تعالى mentioned in the Qur’aan is:
Among the worst liars are the women against their husbands and their exes, and they can be really deceptive, depriving the wisest of men of their intelligence:

PART 2: METHODS USED
Spreading everything one hears without verifying:
Mixing truth with falsehood, or concealing the truth:
Speaking the truth in a deceptive manner:
Misleading a judge through eloquence and deceptive statements:

PART 3: THE VICTIMS OF FALSE TESTIMONIES HAVE BEEN MANY
Fear the supplications of those whom you have wronged and accused falsely:

PART 4: FALSE TESTIMONIES HAVE BECOME WIDESPREAD

2022-02-09 12:36:48 The Best Gift: #Taqwa

Taqwa is: “the Fear of Allaah” by which one abstains from sins.

Taqwa is: “the Love of Allaah” by which one performs all that he has been commanded to do.

Taqwa is: “God-consciousness” by which one is in constant remembrance of Allaah and is mindful of Him تعالى in all his affairs.

The best provision is: “Taqwa”
The best advice one can give is: “Taqwa”
The best advice one receives is: “Taqwa”
The best thing one enjoins upon others is: “Taqwa”
The best gift one can give to his loved ones is: “Taqwa”
The thing by which people will enter Paradise the most is: “Taqwa”

Allaah تعالى said:

{And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best provision is al-Taqwa. So fear Me, O men of understanding!} [Surah al-Baqarah (2): 197]

The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم was asked about the (deed) for which people are admitted into Paradise the most, so he صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Taqwa of Allaah, and good manners.” And he صلى الله عليه وسلم was asked about that for which people are admitted into the Fire the most, and he said صلى الله عليه وسلم: “The mouth and the private parts.”
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2004) and Sunan Ibn Maajah (4246) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

Questioner:
Advise me with something which will rectify for me my Deen and my worldly life.

Shaikh al-Islaam, Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله replied:

All praise is for Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. To proceed:

As for the advice, I do not know of any advice better than what Allaah تعالى and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم enjoined upon those who understand it and follow it. Allaah تعالى said:

{And verily, We have recommended to the people of the Scripture before you, and to you (O Muslims) that you (all) fear Allaah}
[Surah al-Nisaa’ (4): 131]

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم advised Muaadh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه, when he sent him to Yemen saying: “Have Taqwa of Allaah wherever you are, and follow an evil deed with a good one which will wipe it out, and treat the people with good behavior.”
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (1987) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم gave this advice to Abu Dhar as well as to Muaadh رضي الله عنهما]

Muaadh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه enjoyed a lofty status with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said to Muaadh رضي الله عنه: “O Muaadh! By Allaah! I love you…”
[Sunan Abu Dawood (1522) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم also said about Muaadh رضي الله عنه: “…the most knowledgeable of my Ummah concerning the lawful and the unlawful is Muaadh bin Jabal.”
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (3790, 3791), Sunan Ibn Maajah (154), and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee.]

From his merits is that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم sent him to Yemen as a propagator on his behalf, as a Daaee (caller to Islaam), as a Mufaqqih (Jurist), as a Muftee (the one who is capable of giving Fatwa (religious verdicts)), as a Haakim (judge).

And even after this, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم advised him with this instruction (to have Taqwa) – because this is a Jaami (the most comprehensive) advice.
