2022-08-08 15:58:21 Be upon complete Yaqeen (certainty) that your affairs started with Allaah's Commands and they will end with Allaah's Commands, and Allaah rules with Wisdom. No one obeys Him except with His permission, and no one disobeys Him except that He is aware of it. He rewards the doers of good, and He forgives the sinners if they repent. So, do not waste your time at the entrances of the gates of the creation, for Allaah is more Merciful towards you than anyone amongst the creation can ever be. So, supplicate to Him earnestly and with humility, saying: "Yaa Allaah! Yaa Allaah! Yaa Allaah!", and pour your heart out, and beseech Him for all your needs. For He is Most-Kind, Most-Generous, who will never allow His slaves to return empty handed.

2022-08-08 11:44:12 The trials in this world

بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد

Jaabir Ibn Abdullaah رضي الله عنهما narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:
❝On the Day of Judgement, when the people who were tried (in this world) are given their rewards, the people who were well-off (in life), will wish that their skins had been cut off with scissors while they were in the world.❞
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2402) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

•۩۞۩•

Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ said:
❝If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials.❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5645)]

•۩۞۩•

Anas رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:
❝When Allaah wants good for his slave, He hastens his punishment in the world. And when He wants bad for His slave, He refrains from dealing with his sins until he appears before Him on the Day of Judgement.❞

And with this (same) chain, (it was reported) from the Prophet ﷺ who said:
❝Indeed greater reward comes with greater trial. And indeed, when Allah loves a people He subjects them to trials, so whoever is content, then for him is pleasure, and whoever is discontent, then for him is wrath.❞
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2396) and the wordings are his, Sunan Ibn Maajah (4031) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

•۩۞۩•

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله mentioned that some of the Salaf said:
❝Were it not for the trials in this world, we would be arriving bankrupt on the Day of Judgment.❞

2022-06-22 01:32:34 Do not belittle any good deeds!

For we do not know after the Mercy of Allaah, which of our good deeds will help us attain a higher status in the Jannah!!!

Is it that one Rakaah which we prayed in the darkness of the night while everyone else was sleeping?

Or is it that Sadaqah which we gave in secret - even if it was a small amount - so that the left hand didn't know what the right hand had given?

Or is it that water which we had given to the thirsty or the food to the poor, without asking them for any Duaa in return?

Or is it that we fulfilled the need of a Muslim brother without following up with reminders (i.e. by belittling him or by reminding him of our favors)?

Or is it that earnest Du`aa which we made out of sincerity and hope?

Or is it that Dhikr (Allaah's Remembrance) which we did while everyone around was heedless?

Act and do not belittle the good deeds. Save yourself even if by giving half a Date in charity, or by meeting your brother with a happy face, or by removing harmful things from the path.

2022-06-21 09:01:29 A reminder to myself first.

Something which is difficult to perform except by those who are under Allaah's Mercy:

In today's Khutbah, the Khateeb mentioned that the pious predecessors (al-Salaf al-Saaleh) used to be pleased and thankful to Allaah if their prayers were answered, but they would be *more* grateful and *more* thankful to Allaah if their prayers were not answered.

The reason being that when their prayers were answered, it was a decision that they made for themselves and Allaah granted it to them; but when their prayers were not answered, it was because Allaah made a decision for them, and He knows better what is good for them.

And who knows better than Allaah?

And who cares more than Allaah?

And who is more generous than Allaah?

As Allaah تعالى said:
{...and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allaah knows but you do not know.}
[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 216]

And the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:
❝How wonderful is the case of a believer; for all his affairs are good for him, and this applies only to a believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.❞
[Saheeh Muslim (7138), Kitaab al-Zuhd]

2022-06-19 16:53:47 Aspire for the Higher Objective (i.e., Allaah’s pleasure) even in your suffering!

Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned:
One of the scholars have said: “I pondered over the efforts that some of the wise men exert, and I saw that they exerted their efforts towards the same objective, even though the paths they took towards achieving this objective were different. I saw that all of them exerted efforts in getting rid of al-Hamm (anxiety) and al-Ghamm (grief) from their lives. This one would fight depression by eating and drinking, while this one by engaging in trading and earning profit, while this one with marrying (women), while this one by listening to music and singing, and this one by engaging in idle talk and amusement.”

I (Ibn al-Qayyim) say (in response): “These are the objectives of the (worldly) wise people, but all these paths do not lead towards the desired objective, rather, most of them produce the opposite result. And among all these paths I did not see any path leading towards the desired objective except the path of turning to Allaah alone, worshiping Him alone, and seeking His pleasure in all of the affairs.

So, if he follows this path (i.e., the path towards Allaah), even if he were to lose his share of the worldly life, he will succeed in achieving a higher objective - which one will not miss (i.e., Allaah’s pleasure, the Jannah etc.). If the slave achieves this objective, he has achieved everything, and if he misses it, he has lost everything. And (upon this path) if he were to also receive his share of the worldly life, he would be receiving it on the most cheerful of faces. There is no path more beneficial for the slave of Allaah except for this one. And there is no path other than this which would lead (all the way) towards (complete) delight, joy, and happiness.

And our success is from Allaah alone.”

2022-06-15 23:53:38 If Allaah wishes goodness for any person, He تعالى guides him to one of the two:
He تعالى guides him towards doing good deeds
Or He تعالى prevents him from doing bad deeds

When Allaah تعالى wants to have mercy on a person, He تعالى reminds him of Allaah’s Mercy. And this encourages the person to be compassionate, and to work towards Allaah’s Mercy, so that Allaah has Mercy on him, as the Prophet ﷺ said:

وَإِنَّمَا يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الرُّحَمَاءَ
❝and Allaah bestows His mercy only on those of His slaves who are merciful (to others)❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim]

And in another narration, he ﷺ said:

وَلاَ يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ إِلَّا الرُّحَمَاءَ
❝And Allaah does not bestow His Mercy, except on the merciful among His slaves.❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree]

And in oppose to this, if a person intends to take revenge or harm or malign someone, or take something unlawfully, then Allaah تعالى reminds him of His punishment, wrath, etc. So, when a person is reminded of Allaah’s punishment and wrath, it prevents him from acting unjustly towards others or harming them or maligning them, or from taking things unlawfully. Because a person knows that he is going to meet Allaah, and irrespective of how strong he is, he cannot bear the punishment of Allaah.

نسأل الله السلامة والعافية
