2022-05-12 22:12:57 We are not the ones to judge our success by the actions of the Kuffaaar:

FIRST, WHAT IS SUCCESS?!

The ultimate success is in being admitted in the Jannah and being saved from the punishment of the Fire, as Allaah تعالى said:

❝{And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing).}❞
[Surah aal-Imraan (3): 185]

As for this Dunya, it is ever fleeting:

Alee ibn Abi Taalib رضي الله عنه used to say: ❝Certainly this life has begun travelling away, and the hereafter has begun travelling forward, and each has its children. So be from the children of the hereafter, and don’t be from the children of this life. For indeed today there is action with no account, and tomorrow there will be account with no action.❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree]

WHAT ABOUT COMPARING OURSELVES WITH THE KUFFAAR?!

Umar رضي الله عنه said: “I sat down and cast a glance at the room (of the Prophet ﷺ), and by Allaah, I couldn't see anything of importance but three hides.” I said (to Allaah's Messenger ﷺ): “Invoke Allaah to make your followers prosperous, for the Persians and the Byzantines have been made prosperous and given worldly luxuries, though they do not worship Allaah?” The Prophet ﷺ was leaning then (and on hearing my speech he sat straight) and said: ❝O Ibn Al-Khattaab! Do you have any doubt (that the Hereafter is better than this world)? These people have been given rewards of their good deeds in this world only.❞ I asked the Prophet ﷺ: “Please ask Allaah's forgiveness for me.”
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (2468, 5191) and Saheeh Muslim]

The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the Kaafir.❞
[Saheeh Muslim]

Whatever the Kuffaar are enjoying in this world is because they are being rewarded in this world for their deeds so that on the Day of Judgment they will not have any argument against Allaah. Rather, on the Day of Judgment, Allaah تعالى will make their deeds like dust [Surah al-Furqaan], or like a mirage which a thirsty person thinks that it is water, but when he reaches it, he finds nothing [Surah al-Noor].

We should not make the riches of this Dunya our ultimate goal. So we should aim for the highest goal, i.e. the Hereafter, and at the same time work for the Dunya and enjoy the benefits and favors of Allaah which come our way. As Allaah تعالى mentioned:

{But seek, with that (wealth) which Allaah has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of legal enjoyment in this world, and do good as Allaah has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allaah likes not the Mufsidoon.}
[Surah al-Qasas (28): 77]

CONCLUSION:
One can quote numerous Aayaat and Ahaadeeth, but I would like to end by quoting the following Hadeeth, which is the summary of all that has been said earlier:

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: ❝Allaah تعالى says: {O son of Aadam, devote yourself to my worship. I will fill your heart with contentment (i.e. freedom from want) and take care of your poverty. If you do not do this, I will fill your heart with (worldly) pursuits and will not take care of your poverty.}❞
[Musnad of Imaam Ahmad, Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2466), Sunan Ibn Maajah (4107), and authenticated by Shaikh Al-Albaani, As-Saheehah 1359. The wordings are of Ibn Majah]

2022-05-10 23:51:11 A calamity greater than death:

Death separates a person from him father, mother, wife, children, friends, and others.

It separates the person from his wealth, property, and whatever he owned in this world.

A person might dream about wanting to start a business, or get married, or travel, or build a big house, or buy a luxurious car, but when death approaches, everything – for this person – stops at its place, his dreams remain incomplete and the wishes remain unfulfilled. Everything and every relationship comes to an end for him in this world.

Is death a calamity or not?! Indeed, it is a calamity, as Allaah تعالى says:

إِنْ أَنتُمْ ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَصَابَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةُ الْمَوْتِ

{if you are travelling through the land and the calamity of death befalls you}
[Surah al-Maaidah (5): 106]

Death is a true calamity! It is a reality from which there is no escape.

But if one were to contemplate, they’ll realize that there is a calamity greater than death. Yes, getting cut off from doing more good deeds is indeed a greater calamity.

The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝When a person dies, all his acts come to an end except for three…❞
[Saheeh Muslim]

The Prophet ﷺ also said: ❝None of you should wish for death, for if he is a doer of good, he may increase his good deeds, and if he is an evil-doer, he may stop the evil deeds and repent❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5673, 7235)]

He ﷺ also said: ❝None amongst you should wish for death, and do not ask for it before it comes, for when any one of you dies, his actions (to do good deeds) are terminated, and the age of a Believer does not add except in goodness.❞
[Saheeh Muslim]

And Allaah تعالى said:

{And spend [in the way of Allaah] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says: "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be among the righteous."}
[Surah al-Munaafiqoon (63): 10]

But after death, there is no second chance, as Allaah تعالى said:

وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهَا ۚ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

{But never will Allaah delay a soul when its time has come. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.}
[Surah al-Munaafiqoon (63): 11]

2022-05-10 20:15:22 A majority of the people who permit/allow taking Ribaa or interest-based loans are those living in the West and have adapted their way of life, and those who are influenced by them. These Fataawa of allowing Ribaa started from the West and is sweeping in every region of the world.

Those who are blindly following the Fataawa of these “scholars” today in doing a wrong, will wish on the Day of Judgment that they had never obeyed them in the first place:

{The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, "How we wish we had obeyed Allشah and obeyed the Messenger." And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way. Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a great curse."}
[Surah al-Ahzaab (33): 66-68]

When a person is dying and he has nothing to eat or drink, then he is allowed to eat from a pig or drink wine, which is enough to sustain his life, and not fill his belly. This is for the life and death situation.

Musab Ibn Umair, was born in a rich Makkan family. He was well taken care of, and he enjoyed all the comforts that there available. But when he accepted Islaam, his mother took away all that comfort and fortune from him. When he died, the Prophet ﷺ or his companions could not find a shroud big enough to cover him. If his head was covered with it, his feet would get uncovered, and when they tried to cover his feet with the shroud, his head got uncovered. So, the Prophet ﷺ instructed them to cover his head with the shroud and put grass on his feet to cover them. These are people who chose religion over their own comfort, while today, those who allow Ribaa are only choosing a life of comfort over religion.

2022-05-10 14:54:20 It is alarming to see so many comments in support of taking Ribaa, and then we complain why Allaah is not accepting our supplications?

1. The sin of permitting that which Allaah تعالى has prohibited:

We are supposed to make adjustments in our lives according to our religion, that is what is called as being a Muslim, that is the real test, the one who submits. Not the other way round. We are not supposed to keep making changes in our religion to suit our needs.

{and thus they make permissible what Allaah has forbidden.}
[Surah Tawbah (9): 37]

Fighting was forbidden in the four sacred months. But the Mushriks in the Jaahiliyyah used to make it permissible whenever they deemed it was ok to fight and compensate it with another month. They used to bend the rules to allow what Allaah تعالى had prohibited, and thus He rebuked them for this.

If ever bending the rules was permissible, then Bilaal, Sumayyah, Yaasir, Ammaar, and other Companions رضي الله عنهم were the most worthy of it, as they were severely persecuted.

2. Are we going to wage war against Allaah and His Messenger?!

{And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from Allaah and His Messenger but if you repent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly (by receiving less than your capital sums).}
[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 279]

By Allaah, this is a war which no human being can afford. It is a war, lost even before it is started.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE DELAY IN THE PUNISHMENT! When the punishment will come, there will be no respite. Moreover, we are so desensitized, that even thought we see so much corruption and turmoil all around us, yet we have become heedless.

3. The followers of Qaaroon:

It has already been mentioned in the post that relying on one’s ability and thinking that the Rizq (sustenance) that comes to the person is because of his/her knowledge, is a big deception.

{He (Qaaroon) said: "This has been given to me only because of knowledge I possess."}
[Surah al-Qasas (28): 78]

We read in the Qur’aan that Qaaroon was swallowed by the earth for his treachery and Kibr. What greater warning and admonition is the there after the Qur’aan?

4. What is the guarantee that the person will be able to repay the loan with the interest?!

We have seen the cases in the West, where a majority of the people who had taken loans (of any type student loan, mortgages, home loan) are struggling to repay them, and the interest amount keeps climbing up.

For the temporary gain, the whole economy is collapsing, yet people are deceived into taking such loans.

In a narration it is mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ is supposed to have said: ❝A time is certainly coming to mankind when only the receiver of usury will remain, and if he does not receive it, some of its vapor will reach him.❞ Ibn Isa (a sub-narrator) said: ❝Some of its dust will reach him.❞
[Sunan Abu Dawood (3331) but graded as “Dha`eef” (weak) by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝A time will come when one will not care how one gains one's money, legally or illegally.❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (2059)]

The one who takes Ribaa, or the one who gives it, and the one is a witness to it, and the one who writes it, all are under the curse of Allaah, and there are many Ahaadeeth on the severity of taking Ribaa. It is a Major sin, and because of which the supplications are not answered.

2022-05-09 23:59:36 Be careful before you accidently end up ascribing evil to Allaah

When Ibraaheem عليه السلام had a discussion with his father, he said to him:

{"Verily! They (the things which you worship besides Allaah) are enemies to me, save the Lord of the worlds;

The One who has created me, and it is He Who guides me;

and it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink;

and when I am ill, it is He who cures me;

and Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again);

and Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)}

[Surah al-Shuaraa (26): 77-82]

Look how Ibraaheem عليه السلام beautifully described Allaah, and ascribed all the good things to Him, but when he mentioned sickness, he did not ascribe it to Allaah, but said: “when I am ill, it is Allaah who cures me.”

Allaah عز وجل decrees that which is good and that which is evil.

As for His decreeing that which is good, it is that which is certainly and absolutely good in itself – the decree and decision of it, and in that which results from it.

Remember: The decree of Allaah that which is good, it is that which is certainly and absolutely good in itself – the decree and decision of it, and in that which results from it.

An example of good decree: Allaah تعالى decrees to provide mankind with sustenance, safety and security, tranquility, knowledge, guidance, support, etc. These are all good in their decree and in their outcome.

As for decreeing that which is evil, it is actually good in its decree (Allaah makes decisions only based on the highest level of wisdom) even though it may result in evil.

The decreeing with evil, it is good in its decree, but the outcome of it is evil.

The hardship and the afflictions that we face, these are all because of our sins, as Allaah تعالى said:

ظَهَرَ الْفَسَادُ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِي النَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعْضَ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

{Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by (as a result of) what the hands of people have earned so that He may let them taste part of what they have done THAT PERHAPS THEY MAY RETURN (IN REPENTANCE).}
[Surah al-Room (30): 41]

In this case, the decree is for the utmost good and the most praiseworthy reason – THE PEOPLE RETURNING TO ALLAAH عز وجل, returning from sinning against Him to His obedience. So the result may be evil, yet the initial decree and decision is good.

2022-05-07 20:09:29 Music and the downfall of the nation:

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“And it is known, to the specific and the people in general, that the Fitnah of listening to music and singing is greater than the Fitnah of lamenting* by a large degree.

And what we have witnessed, we and those other than us, and what we came to know through experience is that: Singing and musical instruments have not appeared in a nation, and it spread among them, and they got busy in them, except that Allaah تعالى allowed the enemies to overpower them and afflicted them with famine, poverty and corrupt rulers.

The person of sound intellect contemplates and sees the state the world is in – and Allaah’s help is sought.”

[Madaarij al-Saalikeen (1/496)]

*Lamenting by wailing loudly, beating the cheeks and tearing the clothes are from the acts of the days of ignorance (Jaahiliyyah). In those days women were hired to wail at the death of someone.

2022-05-07 03:07:31 Patience upon things which we can’t comprehend:

It is not easy to maintain patience when one sees things happening in a way he cannot comprehend. This is why the status of the one who endures patiently is ever great. If the loss of someone or the burden of deprivation is breaking your back, then remember that one day all these difficulties will pass you by. So, be content with what you have as this will help you through this transitional phase.

And remember what al-Khidr said to Moosaa

{And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?}
[Surah al-Kahf (18): 68]

It is not like that Moosaa عليه السلام was impatient. As, Allaah تعالى said elsewhere:

فَاصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُولُو الْعَزْمِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ

{Therefore, be patient (O Muhammad ﷺ) as did the Messengers of strong will…}
[Surah al-Ahqaaf (46): 35]

He عليه السلام was a Messenger of Allaah, and he only spoke when he saw things happening against the Shareeah.

Notes:

Tafseer Muyassar:
{And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?"}, meaning: “How will you be patient about the things that I am going to do, about which Allaah تعالى taught me, while it was hidden from you?”

Tafseer al-Tabaree:
{And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?"}, meaning: al-Khidr said to Moosaa: “How will you remain patient, O Moosaa, after seeing me doing things about which you do not know the real motive behind them? And how will you stay by my side in carrying them out? Whereas, perhaps, you judge the correctness of the action, and the wrong of the wrongdoer, based on what is apparent to you, and according to the limited knowledge that you have. As for my actions, they are without apparent evidence, and which is not correct according to your opinion. These actions are being carried out based on the events which will happen in the future and not anytime soon, and you have no knowledge of how it will unfold (if these actions are not carried out), as the knowledge about this is hidden from you.”

Tafseer Ibn Katheer:
{Verily, you will not be able to have patience with me!} meaning: “You will not be able to accompany me when you see me doing things that go against your law, because I know from Allaah that which He تعالى has not taught you, and you have knowledge from Allaah that which He تعالى has not taught me. Each of us has responsibilities before Allaah that the other does not share, and you will not be able to stay with me.”

{And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not}, meaning: “For I know that you will denounce me justifiably, but I have knowledge of Allaah's wisdom and the hidden interests which I am aware but you are not.”

Tafseer al-Sadee:
{And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?"}, meaning: “How can you be patient with a matter when you have no knowledge of either its hidden or apparent aspects and you do not know the purpose behind it or how it will unfold?”

Tafseer al-Baghawee:
{Verily, you will not be able to have patience with me!} meaning: “al-Khidr had said to Moosaa عليه السلام, rather, he said this because he knew that Moosaa عليه السلام is going to see things which are apparently wrong, and it is not permissible for the Prophets (of Allaah) to remain silent when something wrong takes place. And al-Khidr informed Moosaa عليه السلام (beforehand) about the excuse that will make him not remain patient when he said: {And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?"}

2022-05-05 16:19:36 Know that death is not the end!

O those who have been afflicted with calamities!

And those who have suffered adversities in life, and the losses!

And those whose eyes have been overflowing with tears!

And whose hearts have been suffering with pain!

Know that the parting from this world is not the end!

It is only a transition, from this world to the next!

The transition ending with – either in the Jannah or in the Hellfire!

This is why, one should remember, everyone who departed from you in this world, will surely meet you in the Hereafter.

How many loved ones and dear ones have departed from us!

Allaah had decreed that one day we will be separated from them!

And every one of us is going to drink from that cup – the cup of death!

By Allaah! Everyone who is born of a woman will taste death, and there is no escape!

Death doesn’t differentiate between male or female, young or old, strong or weak, healthy or sick, rich or poor. When the appointed time comes, everyone will die!

Some will die today and some will die tomorrow!

The living lament at the death of their loved ones, while the dead regrets at the missed opportunities for doing more good deeds!

Today we walk to the Masaajid to pray, but tomorrow we will be carried to the Masaajid on the shoulders to be prayed upon, and then be carried us to our graves!

And know, that part of the reward of entering the Jannah is – if they are of those who were patient in this world – Do you know what Allaah تعالى has said about them?!

{Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying]: "Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home."}
[Surah al-Rad (13): 23-24]

Yes, the Angels will greet you and your Lord will pleased with you!

The highest station in Jannah is not achieved except through patience. Being patient with what Allaah had decreed! And if one is pleased with the decree of Allaah, then it will lead him to an even more higher station in the Jannah.

So, be patient, and know that what Allaah تعال has decreed will come to pass. There is no one who can change the decree of Allaah تعالى!

Allaah تعالى is al-Hakeem (the Most-Wise), al-Aleem (the Most-Knowledgeable), al-Lateef (the Most- Kind and Generous)! Whatever you see as evil and harm, it is in fact a means of goodness towards you, which will raise your status in the Hereafter.

Hidden in between the calamity that you suffer is a source of reward for you from Allaah which you do not see!

The pain that you suffer is the door from which Allaah تعالى provides for you!

So, be patient till you meet the Prophet ﷺ as he said: ❝So be patient till you meet me, and your promised place (of meeting) will be the cistern (i.e., Lake of al-Kauthar).❞
