He does pass verdicts to the people that contradict the Sharīʿah.
وهو يفتي النّاس بفتاوى تخالف الشّريعة

He has a philosophy that is very dangerous.
وله فلسفة خطيرة جدّا

If anything comes muḥarram (ie: prohibited) in the Sharīʿah, he will shy away from calling it so,
إذا جاء الشّيء محرّما في الشّرع يتخلّص من التّحريم

He will say: “There is no clear-cut evidence for its prohibition.”
بقوله ليس هناك نصّ قاطع بالتّحريم

This is what made him legitimize listening to music; he permitted it for that English man (ie: Cat Stevens) that accepted Islām to remain a Musician and eat from music proceeds.
ولذلك أباح الغناء وأباح لذلك الإنجليزي الّذي كان أسلم وهو من كبار المغنّيين البريطانيّين أن يظلّ في مهنته وأن يأكل من كسبه

al-Qarḍāwī claimed that there is no clear-cut evidence against music or musical instruments.
وادّعى القرضاوي بأنّه ليس هناك نصّ قاطع في تحريم الغناء أو آلات الطّرب

This (position) is in opposition with the ijmāʿ (ie: consensus) of scholars of the Muslims.
وهذا خلاف إجماع علماء المسلمين

2021-06-08 19:32:45 ʿAmr bn Āl-ʿĀṣ (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his son: “O my son, take this advice from me:
وَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ لِابْنِهِ يَا بُنَيّ احْفَظْ عَنِّي مَا أُوصِيكَ بِهِ:

A just ruler is better than rain (from the sky),
إمَامٌ عَدْلٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مَطَرٍ

A fierce lion is better than an unjust ruler,
وَبْلٍ وَأَسَدٌ حَطُومٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ إمَامٍ ظَلُومٍ،

But an unjust and tyrant ruler is better than a pervading fitnah (ie: tribulation).”
وَإِمَامٌ ظَلُومٌ غَشُومٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ فِتْنَةٍ تَدُومُ.

2021-06-08 19:00:54 On the authority of Umm al-Dardāʾ who said: “Abū al-Dardāʾ (may Allah be pleased with them both) would make ġusl, then come while he was shivering and warm himself with me.”

2021-06-08 18:02:29 Abū Muḥammad b. Ḥazm said: A man once said to ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb: “O Commander of the Faithful! I saw a woman and I fell in love with her.”
وقال أبو محمد بن حزم قال رجل لعمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه يا أمير المؤمنين إني رأيت امرأة فعشقتها

He (i.e. ʿUmar) replied: “This cannot be controlled.”
فقال عمر ذاك مما لا يملك

2021-06-08 16:51:59 al-Ḥasan (al-Baṣrī) asked the Khawārij: “What is al-Islām?”
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ الْحَسَنُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الْخَوَارِجِ: مَا الْإِسْلَامُ؟

He (ie: the Khārijī) replied: “That you testify that there is none worthy of worship besides Allah, and that Muḥammad is His messenger, and make the pilgrimage, and fast during Ramaḍān, and wash yourself after impurity.” And he mentioned some other things.
قَالَ: «شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَحَجُّ الْبَيْتِ، وَصِيَامُ رَمَضَانَ، وَالْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ» وَذَكَرَ أَشْيَاءَ

al-Ḥasan said: “You are killing people who have this as their religion.”
فَقَالَ الْحَسَنُ: إِنَّكَ لَتَقْتُلُ مَنْ هَذَا دِينَهُ

ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ مُحَمَّدُ بنُ إِسْحَاقَ بنِ خُزَيْمَةَ بنِ صَالِحِ بنِ بَكْرٍ السُّلَمِيُّ *

Al-Ḥāfidh, al-Ḥujjah (ie: the proof), al-Faqīh, Shaykh al-Islām, the Imām of Imāms Abū Bakr al-Sulamī, al-Naysābūrī al-Shāfīʿī - the author of many books.
الحَافِظُ، الحُجَّةُ، الفَقِيْهُ، شَيْخُ الإِسْلاَمِ، إِمَامُ الأَئِمَّةِ، أَبُو بَكْرٍ السُّلَمِيُّ النَّيْسَابُوْرِيُّ، الشَّافِعِيُّ، صَاحِبُ التَّصَانِيْفِ.

He was born in the year 223H.
وُلِدَ: سَنَةَ ثَلاَثٍ وَعِشْرِيْنَ وَمائَتَيْنِ.

Early in his childhood he gave great importance to Ḥadīth and Fiqh, up until he was made an exemplary in knowledge and precision of memory.
وَعُنِيَ فِي حَدَاثتِه بِالحَدِيْثِ وَالفِقْهِ، حَتَّى صَارَ يُضْرَبُ بِهِ المَثَلُ فِي سَعَةِ العِلْمِ وَالإِتْقَانِ.

2021-06-06 16:06:38 ʿAllān al-Warrāq said: I saw al-ʿItābī eating bread in the pathway at Bāb al-Shām, I said to him: “Woe to you, do you have no shame (ie: because eating in public was considered bad manners in that society)?”
أنا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ النِّعَالِيُّ، أنا أَبُو الْفَرَجِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ نا ابْنُ مَهْرَوَيْهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي عَلَّانُ الْوَرَّاقُ، قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ الْعَتَّابِيَّ يَأْكُلُ خُبْزًا عَلَى الطَّرِيقِ بِبَابِ الشَّامِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: وَيْحَكَ أَمَا تَسْتَحِي؟

He said to me: “If we were in a building full of cows, would you be ashamed of eating while they looked at you?”
فَقَالَ لِي: أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ كُنَّا فِي دَارٍ فِيهَا بَقَرٌ أَكُنْتَ تَحْتَشِمُ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ وَهِيَ تَرَاكَ؟

I answered: “No.”
فَقُلْتُ: لَا

He said: “Be patient while I show you that they are only cows.”
قَالَ: فَاصْبِرْ حَتَّى أُعَلِّمَكَ أَنَّهُمْ بَقَرٌ

He then stood up, delivered a sermon, told stories and supplicated until there was a big crowd around him,
ثُمَّ قَامَ فَوَعَظَ وَقَصَّ وَدَعَا حَتَّى كَثُرَ الزِّحَامُ عَلَيْهِ

He then said: “It was narrated to us with more than one chain of narration that whoever has a tongue that can reach the tip of his nose will not enter the Hellfire.”
ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ: رُوِيَ لَنَا مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ أَنَّ مَنْ بَلَغَ لِسَانُهُ أَرْنَبَةَ أَنْفِهِ لَمْ يَدْخُلِ النَّارَ

There was no one in the crowd except that he was trying to see if his tongue would reach the tip of his nose.
قَالَ: فَمَا بَقِيَ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا أَخْرَجَ لِسَانَهُ يُومِيءُ بِهِ نَحْوَ أَرْنَبَتِهِ وَيُقَدِّرُهُ هَلْ يَبْلُغُهَا؟

When the crowd dispersed al-ʿItābī said to me: “Did I not I tell you they were cows?”
فَلَمَّا تَفَرَّقُوا " قَالَ لِي الْعَتَّابِيُّ: «أَلَمْ أُخْبِرْكَ أَنَّهُمْ بَقَرٌ»
