2021-06-05 20:14:15 The best thing to say for condolences is what was narrated in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Buhari and Muslim on the authority of Usāmah b. Zayd – may Allah be pleased with them, who said: One of the Prophet’s ﷺ daughters sent someone to him to call him and inform him that a child of hers has passed. He ﷺ told the (her) messenger: Go back to her, and tell her that indeed to Allah belongs what He has taken, and to Him belongs what He has given, and everything with Him has an appointed term. Tell her to be patient and to anticipate [the reward].
وأحسن ما يُعزَّى به: ما روينا في صحيحي البخاري ومسلم، عن أُسامة بن زيد رضي الله عنهما قال: أرسلتْ إحدى بنات النبيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إليه تدعوه وتخبره أنّ صبيًا لها أو ابنًا في الموت، فقال للرسول: "ارْجعْ إلَيْها فأخْبرْها أنَّ لِلَّهِ تَعالى ما أخَذَ وَلَهُ ما أعْطَى، وكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِنْدَهُ بأجَلٍ مُسَمَّى، فمُرْها فَلْتَصْبرْ وَلْتَحْتَسبْ"

And he mentioned the rest of the ḥadīth.
وذكر تمام الحديث.

This ḥadīth is one of the greatest pillars of Islām; it consists of numerous points from the foundations of the religion, its branches, etiquettes, patience during all types of calamities, worries, aliments and other symptoms.
قلت: فهذا الحديث من أعظم قواعد الإِسلام، المشتملة على مهمات كثيرة من أصول الدين وفروعه، والآداب، والصبر على النوازل كلِّها، والهموم والأسقام وغير ذلك من الأعراض.

The meaning of: “Indeed to Allah belongs what He has taken…” is that all the creation is the property of Allah, so He has not taken what is yours, rather He has taken what belongs to Him, and was only with you [temporarily] in the literal sense.
ومعنى "أن لله تعالى ما أخذ" أن العالم كله ملك لله تعالى، فلم يأخذ ما هو لكم، بل أخذ ما هو له عندكم في معنى العارية؛

And the meaning of: “to Him belongs what He has given…” is that what He has bestowed upon you is not outside of His possession, rather it belongs to Him and He does what He wills with it.
ومعنى "وله ما أعطى" أن ما وهبه لكم ليس خارجًا عن ملكه، بل هو له سبحانه يفعل فيه مايشاء،

“...everything with Him has an appointed term.” So do not be in a state of panic and grief, for indeed whoever was taken had reached the end of his/her appointed term, it is impossible for them to be delayed or brought forward in relation to it. So, if you know all of this, then be patient and anticipate the reward for what has befallen you.
وكل شيء عنده بأجلٍ مسمّى فلا تجزعوا، فإن من قبضه قد انقضى أجَله المسمى، فمُحال تأخره أو تقدّمخ عنه، فإذا علمتم هذا كله فاصبروا واحتسبوا ما نزل بكم،

He would be teaching a class and then break for prayer or food and when he finished, he returned to his seat and he would start off again with the exact word he had paused on as though he never stood up.
كان يدرس ثم يقطع الدرس للصلاة أو الطعام فاذا انتهى وعاد الى مجلسه بدأ من الكلمة التي انتهى عندها وكأنه لم يقم من مجلسه.

2021-06-04 16:48:42 ʿUrwah reported that ʿĀʿishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed one of his wives and then left for prayer without performing ablution.”
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «أَنَّهُ قَبَّلَ بَعْضَ نِسَائِهِ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»

2021-06-04 15:08:17 I say: “The scholars continue to differ, and one scholar will talk about another scholar based on his ijtihād.
قُلْتُ: مَا زَالَ العُلَمَاءُ يَخْتلِفُوْنَ، وَيَتَكَلَّم العَالِمُ فِي العَالِم باجْتِهَاده،

Every single one of them is maʿḏūr (ie: excused), and maʿjūr (ie: rewarded).
وَكُلٌّ مِنْهُم مَعْذُور مَأْجُور،

Only the one that is stubborn and invalidates al-ijmāʿ (ie: the consensus) is maʿzūr (ie: liable)!
وَمَنْ عَاند أَوْ خرق الإِجْمَاعَ، فَهُوَ مَأْزور،

And to Allah is the return of all al-umūr (ie: affairs).”
وَإِلَى اللهِ تُرْجَعُ الأُمُوْر.

Shaykh: “Is it permissible to do what?”
الشيخ: هل يجوز إيش؟

Questioner: “Permissible to kill him.”
السائل: يجوز يقتله

Shaykh: “Okay, is it permissible to kill a Jew? Kill him!? Where? Here or over there?”
الشيخ: هل يجوز أن يقتل يهوديّا إيه , يقتله وين هنا أم هناك؟

Questioner: “Over there.”
السائل: هناك

Shaykh: “Over there, my brother do you not see that when a Jew is killed then in return a great number of Muslims are killed, have you not seen this? Those killed from the Muslims are so many more!?”
الشيخ: هناك , يا أخي أنتم ما بتشوفوا إنه لمّا يقتل يهودي، إلاّ ويقتل مقابله عديد من المسلمين، ما رأيتم هذا؟ القتلى من المسلمين أكثر أم من اليهود؟

Questioner: “From the Muslims? But these actions are essential so that we put fear into their hearts and scare them.”
السائل: من المسلمين، لكن لا بدّ من الشّغلات هذه حتى نوقع في قلوبهم الرّعب ونخوّفهم

Shaykh: “No! It is not essential that it is like this.”
الشيخ: لا مش لا بدّ هكذا.

Questioner: “Then until when do we do this?”
السائل: إلى متى يعني؟

Shaykh: It is not essential that it is done like this! “Saʿd wanted to water the camels, while wearing a gown [without being appropriately dressed], O Saʿd camels are not watered like this (Arabic proverb used when difficult tasks are done inappropriately)!” Imagine, if your situation continues like this, what will be the result? What will the Muslims be watching and witnessing? And the Palestinians, what will they be slaughtered for? What will be the result? A Jew is killed and in return tens of Palestinians are killed, thousands imprisoned, what will be the result? Will this be a victory against the Jews? This is not the way, in reality the Muslims have now mistaken the way of jihād.
الشيخ: لا بدّ مش هكذا، أوردها سعد وسعد مشتمل، ما هكذا يا سعد تورد الإبل، تصوّر هلّأ أنت إذا بقي الحال هكذا، شو بتكون النّتيجة؟ المسلمين عم يتفرّجوا، والفلسطنيّين عم يذبحوا، ماذا تكون النّتيجة؟ يقتل يهوديّ ويقتل مقابله عشرة من الفلسطنيّين، ويسجن الألوف ماذا تكون النّتيجة؟ هل يكون انتصارا على اليهود؟ ليس هذا هو الطّريق، الحقيقة أنّ المسلمين الآن أخطئوا طريق الجهاد،

Jihād begins with jihād an-Nafs (jihād of one’s own self) like the Messenger ﷺ said: “The mujāhid is the one who makes jihād against his desires for the sake of Allah.”
الجهاد يبدأ بجهاد النّفس كما قال عليه الصّلاة والسّلام (المجاهد من جاهد هواه لله)،

I am not talking about the ḥadīth which is famous on the tongues of the people: “We have returned from the minor jihād to the major jihād.” This is a weak ḥadīth, however the authentic ḥadīth dispenses with the weak one which is the saying of the Messenger ﷺ: “The mujāhid is the one who makes jihād against his own-self and his desires for the sake of Allah.”
لا أقول الحديث المشهور على ألسنة النّاس (رجعنا من الجهاد الأصغر إلى الجهاد الأكبر) هذا حديث ضعيف، لكن يغني عنه الحديث الصّحيح وهو قوله عليه الصّلاة والسّلام (المجاهد من جاهد نفسه لله).
