The latest Messages 46

2021-04-24 18:06:44 ʿAbd Allah b. Busr narated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Glad tidings to those who find in their scroll (of deeds) abundant istiġfār (on Yawm al-Qiyāmah).”

The ḥadīth is Ḥasan.

2021-04-23 18:42:43 Al-Imām Muslim reported in the Muqadimmah (ie: Introduction) of his Ṣaḥīḥ (compilation) on the authority of Mujāhid that Bushayr al-ʿAdawī came to Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him) and began narrating “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said...” and “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said...” but he (ie: Ibn ʿAbbās) did not show any concern to him nor look at him.

So he (ie: Bushayr) asked: “O Ibn ʿAbbās, I do not see you listening. I narrate to you about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and you are not listening.”

So Ibn ʿAbbās replied: In the past, wenever we heard a man saying: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said...” all of our eyes became focused on him, and we listened attentively. However when the people began to ride all types of camels (ie: the lenient soft camel and the harsh stubborn camel - meaning: when the people began to narrate from every single individual without differentiating from who they narrated from), then we only took what we knew for sure from the people.

2021-04-23 16:39:31 Al-Mushrikūn (ie: the polytheists) would make duʿāʾ (ie: supplication) to Allah if they felt compelled to, and their duʿāʾ would be answered.

Then how about al-muʾminīn (ie: the believers)!

2021-04-22 23:39:22 Abū Zuhayrah ʿUmārah b. Ruwaybah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger ﷺ said: “One who offers prayer before the rising of the sun, and the setting of the sun will not enter the Fire.” This is referring to al-Fajr and al-ʿAṣr.

2021-04-22 20:24:46 ʿAmr b. al-ʿĀṣ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The difference between our fast and the fast of the People of the Book is the eating of the pre-dawn meal.”

2021-04-22 18:57:42 Abū Rūḥ reported that Ibn ʿUyaynah said: “Whatever a servant dislikes is better for him than what he loves. Because what he dislikes triggers him to make duʿāʾ (to keep it away from him), while what he loves occupies and distracts him (from making duʿāʾ altogether).”

2021-04-21 17:00:07 Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: “I have been ruined, O Messenger of Allah!”

He ﷺ asked: “And what ruined you?”

The man replied: “I have had sexual intercourse with my wife in Ramaḍān (ie: while fasting).”

He ﷺ asked him: “Do you have something to buy a slave his freedom.”

The man replied: “No.”

So he ﷺ asked: “Are you able to fast for two months continuously.”

The man replied: “No.”

He ﷺ asked him: “Are you able to feed sixty masakīn (ie: needy people)?”

He replied: “No.”

Then the man sat down.

Meanwhile, a basket full of dates was presented to the Prophet ﷺ.

So he ﷺ asked him: “Are you able to give these (dates) away as ṣadaqah?”

The man replied: “Who would need these more than me! There is no house between these two barren plains of Madīnah needier of these dates than mine.”

The Prophet ﷺ smiled such that his teeth could be seen.

Then he ﷺ said to him: “Go and feed your family with these.”

2021-04-20 17:00:51 Issue: (The Qurʾān) is what is written in al-maṣāḥif (ie: the copies of the Qurʾān).

It is what one hears from the reciter.

It is what (the believers) preserve in their hearts,

And also what Jibrīl has brought down to the heart of Muḥammad ﷺ.

All these are Allah's Book and His Speech. All these are the Qurʾān, literally and not figuratively.

Whoever says, that any of these is not the Qurʾān and not the Speech of Allah, is a kāfir (ie: disbeliever), since his stand opposes that of Allah's, the Prophet's and al-ijmāʿ (ie: the consensus of) Ahl al-Islām (ie: the Islāmic community).

He the Mighty and Majestic said: {Then grant him protection so that he may hear the Word of Allah} [9:6]

And He the Exalted said: {A party of them (Jewish rabbis) used to hear the Speech of Allah, then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it?} [2:75]

And He the Exalted said: {Nay! This is a Glorious Qurʾan, (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz (The Preserved Tablet)!} [85:21-22]

And He the Exalted said: {In a Book well-guarded, which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified, a Revelation (this Qurʾan) from the Lord of the ʿĀlamīn} [56:78-80]

And He the Exalted said: {Nay, but they, the clear Ayāt are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge} [29:49]

And He the Exalted said: {Which the trustworthy Rūḥ (ie: Jibrīl) has brought down, upon your heart that you may be (one) of the warners} [26:193]

It was narrated on the authority of Ibn ʿUmar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade traveling with the Qurʾān to the land of the enemy, lest the enemy gets hold of it.

2021-04-19 17:34:52 It is also legislated during these days to increase in acts of worship, from giving charity to the needy, and in the path of Allāh, and praying the voluntary prayers outside of the prohibited times, especially the night prayer.

A person should not get lax in these days with the ḏikr of Allāh, by reciting Qurʾān and making tasbīḥ and tahlīl. So he busies his time with acts of worship of the tongue and actions. So he capitalizes on the good within these days.

2021-04-18 18:31:19 From the signs of beneficial knowledge is that its possessors do not claim knowledge nor do they brag about it to anyone.

They do not attribute anyone to ignorance except the one who opposes the Sunnah and its people, doing this out of anger for Allah and not out of anger for themselves nor do they do this in order to raise themselves above anyone.

As for the person whose knowledge is not beneficial then their only concern is raising themselves above people through their knowledge and showing it off to people, attributing them to ignorance and looking for their shortcomings in order to raise themselves.

This is from the most despicable and wretched characteristics.
