2021-04-29 19:36:55 May an infinite curse, (ie: literally like the number of sand-grains) from our Lord be upon the one who rejects the view of Abū Ḥanīfa.

2021-04-29 18:13:36 Question: “I dispatched the Zakāt al-fiṭr, specifically pertaining to myself, to my family in Miṣr (ie: Egypt) so that they can discharge it in my country. I reside in al-Saudīyyah (ie: Saudi Arabia). Is this action correct?”

Answer: “(This is) not a problem, (and) you shall be rewarded inshāʾ Allah according to the statements of the scholars.

However, discharging it in your area is better, so that you discharge it to the needy in the area in which you reside, and this is better.

However, if you dispatched it to your family to discharge it to the needy in your country then that is not a problem.”

2021-04-29 00:20:12 ʿĀʿishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: A miskīnah (ie: poor woman) came to me carrying her two daughters,

I gave her three dates (as charity),

She gave one date to each of her children,

And she raised (the last) date (intending) to eat it,

Her daughters expressed a desire to eat it (ie: the last date she was going to it),

So she split the date into two and gave each of them a half of it (ie: leaving nothing for herself).

I was amazed by this so I mentioned this to the Messenger ﷺ.

He said: “Indeed Allah the Mighty and Majestic has obligated the entrance to Jannah for her, and prohibited the Hellfire from touching her (because of that).”

2021-04-28 22:40:52 Al-Ṣaymarī informed us: we read unto al-Ḥusayn b. Hārūn from Abū l-ʿAbbās b. Saʿīd: He said: Ibrāhīm b. al-Walīd narrated to us: Muḥammad b. Isḥāq al-Balkhī narrated to us: I heard al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad al-Laythī say: I came to Kūfa and inquired about the most devout (ie: aʿbad) of its inhabitants and I was directed to Abū Ḥanīfah.

Then I came when I was an old man and inquired about the best faqīh amongst its inhabitants and I was directed to Abū Ḥanīfah.

2021-04-28 18:17:16 Ibn ʿAwn reported that he heard ʿUmar b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz wrote to the people of Baṣrah: “Ṣadaqah al-fiṭr of Ramaḍān is incumbent upon every child and adult, free or slave, male or female, of the amount of a half ṣāʿ of wheat or a ṣāʿ of dates.”

2021-04-27 18:56:39 (al-Ḥāfidh) al-ʿIrāqī said in Sharḥ Muqadimmah Ibn Ṣalāh: it was narrated to us on the authority of Muʿwamal that he said: “A Shaykh narrated a ḥadīth to me on the virtues of the Qurʾān, chapter by chapter.”

So I asked him: “Who narrated this ḥadīth to you?”

He said: “A man in Madāʿin narrated it to me, he is alive.”

I traveled to him and asked him: “Who narrated this ḥadīth to you?”

He said: “A Shaykh in Wāsiṭ narrated it to me, he is alive.”

So I travelled to him, he said: “A Shaykh in Baṣrah narrated it to me.”

So I travelled to him, he said: “A Shaykh in Baʿbādān narrated it to me.”

So I travelled to him, he took me by the hand into a house, a group of Ṣūfīs were in it, with them was a Shaykh, he (ie: the person who took my hand) said: “It is this Shaykh that narrated it to me.”

I said: “O Shaykh, who narrated this ḥadīth to you?”

He responded: “Nobody narrated it to me, but I saw that the people were not interested in the Qurʾān, so I fabricated these aḥadīth for them so that it may turn their hearts to the Qurʾān!”

This man (ie: the traveler) must have travelled for about three months in order to verify this one ḥadīth.

2021-04-27 06:03:28 The noble Shaykh may Allah have (mercy) upon him was asked: “For which type of journey is not having to fast permissible?”

He answered: The journey for which it is permissible to shorten the prayer and not fast is according to some scholars approximately 83 kilometres.

There are some amongst the scholars who do not specify a distance for the journey, rather, all that is commonly understood as a journey amongst the people constitutes a journey.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to shorten the prayer if he travelled 3 farāsikh (ie: plural of farsakh - 3 miles which is equal to 9 miles).

And for al-safar al-muḥarram (ie: the impermissible journey), it is not acceptable to shorten the prayer or not to fast because a journey (undertaken) for (any) evil acts is not appropriate for (such a) rukhṣah (ie: allowance).

However, some of the people of knowledge do not differentiate between a journey undertaken for (any) evil acts or a journey in obedience (to Allah) for the generality of the evidence (available).

And (ultimately) the (complete) knowledge is with Allah.

2021-04-26 18:12:06 Sālim reported that Masrūq said: “So long as a man's heart remains connected to the ḏikr of Allāh, Mighty and Majestic is He, he is considered to be in state of prayer, even if he be in al-sūq (ie: the marketplace).”

2021-04-25 15:18:49 No one dishonours the scholars who are upright upon the ḥaq (ie: truth) except for one of the (following) three:

Either a munāfiq (ie: hypocrite) whose nifāq (ie: hypocrisy) is known,

Or a fāsiq who hates the scholars because they prevent him from his fisq,

Or a deviant ḥizbī (ie: partisan) who hates the scholars because they do not agree with him in his ḥizbiyyah nor his deviant ideology.
