2021-05-08 18:56:50 Wakīʿ narrated to us: from ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. Ayman: from his father: from Abū Saʿīd [al-Khudrī], that (Ayman said): “I entered upon [Abū Saʿīd], and he broke his fast, and I could see that the sun had yet to set (ie: the glow, redness, and light of the sun were still present)."

2021-05-07 21:45:12 Abū Bakr (Ibn Abī Shaibah): Ibn 'Ulaiyyah narrated to us: From Ayyūb: From Nāfiʿ that Ibn ʿUmar would only say the Qunut during the second half“ meaning: of Ramaḍān.

2021-05-07 16:51:33 ʿAbd Allah b. Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal: ʿUbayd Allah b. Muʿāḏ narrated to me: My father narrated to me: Shuʿbah narrated to me: From Qatādah, and Ḥumayd: From Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: “It rained hail, and Abū Ṭalḥah was fasting. So he began to eat some of it,

And he was asked: “You eat, while you are fasting?”

He said: “This is barakah (ie: blessing).”

2021-05-07 16:33:14 Abū Umāmah al-Bāhilī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger ﷺ said: “Read the Qurʾān, for it will come on Yawm Al-Qiyāmah (ie: Day of Judgment) as an intercessor for those who read it.

Read the Zahrawain: al-Baqarah, and Āl-ʿImrān, for they will both come on Yawm Al-Qiyāmah as if they were two two clouds or two shades;

Or as if they were two two flocks of birds in ranks; pleading for those who read them.

Read Sūrah al-Baqarah, for indeed adhering to it is a barakah (ie: blessing), and leaving it is loss, and al-Baṭalah cannot confront it.”

Muʿāwiyah b. Sallam said: “It has reached me that al-Baṭalah are al-saḥarah (ie: the magicians).”

Reported by Muslim in his Ṣaḥīḥ from Ḥasan al-Ḥulwānī from Abū Thawbah.

2021-05-06 19:11:18 Ṭalḥah al-Yāmī reported: I asked ʿAbd Allah b. Abī Awfá: “Did the Prophet ﷺ bequeath (ie: leave behind an inheritance with) anything?”

He said: “No.”

I then asked: “How is it that he commanded the people to leave a will, while he himself did not bequeath anything?”

He said: “He bequeathed the Book of Allah.”

2021-05-06 18:00:19 Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger ﷺ said: “The Miskīn (ie: poor person) is not he who goes to people in order to be given a meal or two of food, or a date or two. However, the Miskīn is he who does not find enough to suffice him; and of whom the people are not aware that such is his condition, such that they would give him Ṣadaqah. And he is someone who does not stand to ask the people.” Reported by al-Bukhārī #1476, Muslim #1039.

2021-05-06 17:41:27 He answered: Giving a third of al-Uḍḥiyah in ṣadaqah (ie: charity) is not wājib (ie: obligatory).

You can (keep and) eat the whole Uḍḥiyah except a little and give that in charity.

However, what best is to give some in ṣadaqah, gift some and eat some yourself.

2021-05-05 17:10:31 We bear testimony the likes of he who affirms a testimony with his tongue, believing in it with his heart, and is of the utmost certainty concerning what is mentioned in these reports, of the Descent of the Lord, without us describing its kayfiyyah (ie: nature). This is because our Prophet, Al-Muṣtafáa, did not describe for us the nature of our Creator's Descent to the lowest heaven.

(Indeed he ﷺ) taught us that [Allah] descends. And neither Allah, Jalla wa ʿAlāʾ, nor His Prophet ﷺ have neglected any clarification that the Muslims are in need of concerning matters of their religion.

Therefore we are those whose positions, and beliefs, are these reports which mention the Descent; we have not been burdened with taking a position on biṣifatihi (ie: their description), or al-kayfiyyah (ie: the description of their nature), since the Prophet, ﷺ, did not describe for us the nature of the Descent.

And in these reports are what has become clear, and established: That Allah, Jalla wa ʿAlāʾ is above the lowest heaven; these reports in which the our Prophet ﷺ informed us that (Allah, ʿazza wa Jal) descends to it. This is because it is impossible, according to the language of the Arabs, for one to say: “He descended from below to above.”

Whereas what is understood from the speech is that the Descent is from the above to the lower.

2021-05-05 14:58:26 Abū Muḥammad b. Ḥazm said: they (i.e. the scholars) agreed that the names annexed to Allah, like ʿAbd Allah, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān and their likes, are good.

al-Fuqahāʾ (ie: the experts of fiqh) disagreed which names are the most beloved to Allah.

al-Jamhūr (ie: the majority of scholars) agreed that ʿAbd Allah and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān are the most beloved.

Saʿīd b. al-Musayyib said that the most beloved names (to Allah) are the names of al-anbiyāʾ (ie: the prophets).

The sound ḥadīth proves that the most beloved names to Allah are ʿAbd Allah and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān.
