2021-06-30 12:27:36 Russia's Progress MS-17 spacecraft with cargoes for the International Space Station (ISS) was launched by the Soyuz-2.1a from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The spacecraft was decorated with the symbols of Chuvashia and the image of pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union Andriyan Nikolaev who was born in Chuvashia.

On the eve of the launch, Roscongress Foundation went to Baikonur to shoot the new video for Regions of Russia project about the first "advancement of regions into space", about the history, life and people of Baikonur.

The Head of the Chuvash Republic, Oleg Nikolaev noted that the launch of such a rocket became possible thanks to an agreement on cooperation between the Chuvash Republic and the Roscosmos State Corporation signed earlier on the sidelines of SPIEF-2021.

2021-06-29 14:30:46 Russia's chairmanship of the Arctic Council begins under the theme – "Responsible Governance for a Sustainable Arctic"

On 29-30 June, the Arctic Council will convene virtually and in Moscow for the first executive meeting during the Russian Chairmanship. During the meeting, delegates will discuss plans for the action items outlined in the Reykjavik Declaration and initial work to implement priorities of the newly adopted 2021-2030 Strategic Plan.

The overarching theme of the Russian Chairmanship is “Responsible Governance for Sustainable Arctic” with the goal of promoting collective action for the sustainable development of the region, enhancing synergies with other regional platforms and implementing the Council’s Strategic Plan.

The Chairmanship will focus on four priority areas:
Arctic inhabitants and Indigenous Peoples;
environmental protection and climate change;
socioeconomic development;
strengthening the Arctic Council.

2021-06-28 18:42:00 Three gold and one silver medal - this is the "catch" of Russian team at the 33rd Schoolchildren International Olympiad in Informatics 2021, which has just ended in Singapore.

This year, the competitions were held in a online format, and thanks to this, more than 300 schoolchildren from 88 countries of the world were able to take part in the Olympiad.
The Sirius Educational Center became the Olympiad platform for children from Russia.
