National rating of the investment climate in the regions of the Russian Federation will be presented on the sidelines of SPIEF.

The program includes a meeting of the Arctic Economic Council, where it is planned to introduce the Russian priorities and discuss the main areas of cooperation for the period of Russia's NPP chairmanship.

2021-05-12 14:46:12 The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum claims to be the most COVID-free event.

Starting from May 13, all employees and drivers involved in the Forum preparations will have to take a PCR-test 24 hours before the first work day, and then repeat it weekly. Testing should be done not just anywhere, but at one of the specially deployed testing points. An employee's badge will not be activated without a negative test.

Moreover, all employees are obliged to provide their complete COVID history:

past illness (if any);
presence of antibodies;
vaccination certificate (if they were vaccinated);
place of residence in St. Petersburg during the Forum.

SPIEF-2021 will probably be the first truly large offline event since the pandemic.

2021-05-12 12:48:52 Delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Participate in SPIEF 2021

The Kingdom's intention was confirmed by Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Saati, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation at a meeting with Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov.

During the Forum, the Roscongress Foundation plans to sign a number of collaboration agreements with the Kingdom of Bahrain's companies, including the sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat and the Bahrain Economic Development Board.

Among the meeting's topics was the possible arrangement of Bahrain's own show-bench in October at the International Forum "Russian Energy Week". Ambassador Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Saati also emphasised Bahrain's interest in setting up the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine production on the Kingdom's territory. During the talks with RDIF, agreements were reached to start, as well as to jointly build a special medical center for this purpose.

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. ICN commemorates this important day each year with the production and distribution of the International Nurses' Day (IND) resources and evidence.

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) has celebrated this day since 1965. ICN prepares and distributes the International Nurses' Day Kit. The kit contains educational and public information materials, for use by nurses everywhere. As of 1998, 8 May was designated as annual National Student Nurses' Day.

The theme for the 2021 resource is "Nurses: A Voice to Lead - A vision for future healthcare". In 2021, ICN seeks to show how nursing will look into the future, as well as how the profession will transform the next stage of healthcare.

Devastated mourners are still piling flowers outside the Kazan school gates where the “major tragedy” that claimed nine lives and left 21 in hospital took place.

Security forces have cordoned off the school premises as the work of the Ministry of Emergency Services, Investigative Committee, local police and other bodies is ongoing.

Qatar's cultural programme reveals three large-scale projects that represent the historical traditions and contemporary art of the country:

“Qatar between Land and Sea. Art and Legacy" exhibition at the Russian Museum of Ethnography will display artworks and artifacts that tell about the traditions and lifestyles in Qatar. The exhibition dates: June 5 to August 22, 2021.

Qatar Film Days Festival, a joint initiative of Doha Film Institute and ССА, will introduce Russian audience to the contemporary cinema of MENA countries (the Middle East and North Africa). The best feature and documentary films of the region are to be shown on June 4-6, 2021, in the Sevkabel Port.

Mawaheb Music Festival will introduce music lovers of St. Petersburg to the young performers from Qatar and other countries of the Middle East and North Africa. Concerts will take place on June 4-6, 2021 in best places of St. Petersburg.

There will be special rules:
it is required to present a Negative PCR-test for COVID-19 taken not more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Russia;
the entry details should be specified in advance in the Roscongress personal account;
visa can be obtained on the day of application.

2021-05-11 15:59:50 The Kazan Tragedy: A minute of silence opened the meeting of the Russian government on May 11.

"A great tragedy happened this morning in one of the schools, children were shot. This is an act of extreme inhumanity and cruelty. Every loss like this brings great grief," Mishustin said.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, many have severe gunshot wounds. Russian Emergencies Ministry sent an IL-76 aircraft to Kazan with medics, psychologists, and medical equipment on board. 

By order of the President, the republic's government is preparing the following payments: ₽1 mln ($13460) to each victim's family; ₽400,00 ($5400) to everyone who got serious and moderate injuries, and ₽200,000 ($2700) to those who got minor injuries.

The head of state has announced a clamorous tightening of gun control laws in Russia.

The exact number of victims in the Kazan school #175 shooting is yet to be specified.

May 12 is an official day of mourning in Tatarstan
