Many SPIEF participants often arrive early or stay after the Forum to explore St. Petersburg. The city has changed quite a bit during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why, apart from the official program, we are going to give you an unofficial guide to St. Petersburg. 1. Observe the city from a height of 21 meters

"Nikolskie Ryady" public space installed a summer viewing platform (the Tower), which offers a splendid view on the quiet historic district of St. Petersburg. Canals and cathedrals, old residential buildings and roofs of the city always look too beautiful from above to ignore this opportunity. Especially when the ticket price is as low as ☧150 ($2). 2. Go to a Nathan Altman exhibition

KGallery, one of St. Petersburg's best private art galleries, has long been known for its excellent exhibitions of artists of the Soviet period. The gallery mainly shows unofficial and underground art, but this time they put on an exhibition of Nathan Altman. He was an avant-garde artist who collaborated a lot with the Soviet government, especially during the first years after the 1917 revolution. For instance, he decorated the city's squares for the holidays. Apart from painting, Altman was engaged in sculpture, ceramics, industrial design, theatrical production. He is a rare example of how an avant-garde cubism artist managed to work within the new Soviet reality, without compromising his artistic and humanistic principles.

3. Explore the Nekrasov Street bars

Forget about Rubinstein Street as the main party spot. Just a couple of weeks ago, the FC Zenit captain surprised everyone with a Deadpool costume he wore at the awards ceremony. And now the whole Russian Internet is going gaga over another transformation on the playing field. After his first goal in the game against FC Tombov, Dzyuba took a pacifier out of his pocket and put it in his mouth. And then together with the team imitated rocking a baby. Such was Dzyuba's way of celebrating the birth of his third son.

In this game the player scored his 200th goal, which made him the top scorer in the history of Russian Premier League. To celebrate this, Dzyuba also had a trick up his sleeve: he showed a T-shirt with words "Two hundred - still hungry." Apparently, the player was ready for his victory in advance.

It is Russia's leading center for Orientalists and Africanists, specialists in the countries and regions of Asia and Africa.

Asia and Africa have always been strategically important destinations for Russian business. Next week (May 24-26), the XV International African Studies Conference "Destinies of Africa in the Modern World" will be held in Moscow. This is a fundamentally important scientific and practical event, the story of which dates back to 1969. More than 500 researchers and experts from Russia, Africa, EU countries, America, Asia, Australia and Oceania will discuss the way African countries are going through a series of infrastructure, digital, and human transformations.

It is particularly important that Russia has accumulated a growing body of competencies that allow to facilitate this transformation and implement joint projects in such areas as:

medicine;
subsurface management;
e-government;
education;
transport infrastructure;
energetics;
agriculture.

The first Russia-Africa summit took place in October 2019 in Sochi: more than 170 Russian companies submitted 280 cooperation proposals. The second summit will be held in 2022 in one of the African countries - the place and date are yet to be specified. Partnership with Africa will also be one of the topics at SPIEF 2021.

Belgrade City Council deputy Draginija Vlk came to be vaccinated by Sputnik V wearing a T-shirt with Vladimir Putin's face and the inscription "Will Solve It In A Wink."

"This T-shirt is my way of thanking President Putin for the fact that Sputnik V is now being produced in Serbia and for his help to Serbia during the COVID-19 pandemic," - explains Ms. Vlk.

As of today, the Sputnik V vaccine has already been approved in 66 countries, including Ecuador.

Holder of WBA Gold belt Fedor Chudinov will fight Rino Liebenberg (South Africa) on June 4 in St. Petersburg. It is the main fight of the professional boxing evening at Sibur Arena, which will be held for the first time as a part of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The main fight of the tournament will feature the WBA Gold champion Mikhail Aloyan. He will be opposed by another boxer from South Africa, Lyndale Chamesi. Who will be the winner?

The sports and entertainment program of SPIEF-2021 includes events in 12 sporting disciplines. The program is run by RC-Sport, the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation.
