Our colleague, Freddie Allen, took part in the Marathon Des Sables, a 240-km ultramarathon to raise funds for a social mobility charity in 2019. ‍ How did he complete what’s often hailed as “the toughest foot race on Earth”? Being able to reframe his goal to something far bigger than himself definitely helped, said Freddie.

Natural climate solutions (NCS) — using natural processes to reduce or remove greenhouse gas emissions — not only helps in the fight against climate change, but it also makes business sense.

Together with Conservation International, NUS Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions and DBS Bank, we recently released a report that looks at how protecting our tropical forests and mangroves can improve the resilience of our environment, businesses and livelihoods.

As we indulge in celebratory feasting this holiday season, let’s think twice about sending leftover food straight to the bin. According to the FAO, we could reduce about 8% of total greenhouse gas emissions if we stop wasting and losing food as a planet.

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, and we’re supporting innovative ways to tackle food waste, such as fermenting it or feeding it to black soldier fly maggots!
