The moral of the story? Coffee and tea are good for you, probably because of polyphenols. And forcing people to be medical guinea pigs at the threat of their life is mean.

Deciding to quit drinking coffee and tea to improve yourself is exactly the same kind of logic that would have you eating fake meat instead of real food. It’s not science at all.

Actually, we do know!

Caffeine is a very weak (inconsequential) diuretic.

The most common toxin in coffee is OTA, which comes from mold. It’s not regulated in the US, so when China, Japan, and the EU reject moldy coffee, we happily drink it in the US.
