Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov sent a congratulatory message to DPR Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalia Nikonorova on the Day of the Donetsk People's Republic.

"Russia showed solidarity with the DPR people, who chose the path of independent development in 2014, providing it with firm support in countering the armed aggression unleashed by the Kiev regime, various assistance in overcoming the consequences of a brutal blockade aimed at breaking the will of Donbass people to resist.
And today, shoulder to shoulder, we are waging a joint struggle to defend and consolidate the gains achieved at the cost of considerable sacrifice and effort."

2022-05-05 20:05:00 ​ Statement by the official representative of the DPR People’s Militia on the situation on May 5, 2022

Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has fired more than 100 shells and mines from 122-mm multiple launch rocket systems BM-21 "Grad",122-mm cannon artillery, as well as 82 and 120-mm mortars.

The areas of 7 settlements of the Republic were under shelling. As a result of the Ukrainian aggression 3 civilians were killed and 1 was injured. 4 residential buildings and 1 civilian infrastructure facility were damaged.

Materials on the fact of wounding civilians and damage to infrastructure will be transferred to the DPR General Prosecutor's Office for inclusion in criminal cases initiated against the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The servicemen of the Donetsk People's Republic, together with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, continue to liberate the settlements of our Republic from Ukrainian invaders. Since the beginning of the day, our servicemen have destroyed 32 Ukrainian nationalists, 4 120-mm mortars, 2 infantry fighting vehicles and 2 cargo vehicles with ammunition. 2 122-mm D-30 howitzers, 2 armored and 1 cargo vehicles were captured.

Unfortunately, there were losses among our fighters. Over the past day, in the struggle for independence, 1 defender of the Donetsk People's Republic died in the line of military duty and 9 comrades were injured.

We express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

I would like to give special attention to defenders of the Donetsk People's Republic, whose courage and bravery in a fight against Ukrainian nationalists will become an example for future generations.

On March 2, 2022, during the liberation of Mariupol from Ukrainian nationalists, the assault group under the command of foreman Nesterenko Artem confronted an enemy tank unit that attempted a counteroffensive. Having made a courageous decision, foreman Nesterenko started the battle with superior enemy forces. Taking advantageous firing positions thanks to coordinated actions and clear leadership, the group managed to stop the enemy. It made possible our troops to regroup and strike at the advancing nationalist forces, disrupting the counteroffensive and forcing the enemy to retreat. During the battle, the division of foreman Nesterenko destroyed 2 tanks, 1 vehicle and up to 12 servicemen of the Azov nationalist group. Open / Comment

2022-05-05 19:30:28 ​ For the first time the leadership of the Union State of Russia and Belarus visited Donetsk

Today, on May 5, the first visit of the Union State delegation to the Donetsk People's Republic took place. The delegation included State Secretary of the Union State Dmitriy Mezentsev and Head of the Department for Social Policy and Information Support of the Standing Committee of the Union State Oleg Slizhevskiy.

Delegation members together with the DPR Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalia Nikonorova laid floral tribute to the Eternal Flame at the monument "To Your Liberators, Donbass" and on the Walk of Fame in the Leninsky Komsomol Park.

The Union State representatives held a number of meetings with the Republic’s leadership.

In addition, guests visited the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital, where they met with the Deputy Chief Physician Artem Kharagezov. One of the main agenda topics was the possible ways of support from the Union State. The delegates did not miss the opportunity to communicate with children and presented them toys and educational kits.

The delegation visited the School of the Olympic Reserve and handed over humanitarian aid from the Union State to the pupils. The guests talked with the director of the School Andrey Sereda and students about the plans for further humanitarian support of this educational institution. Open / Comment
