Today, on June 6, the opening ceremony of the XV Great Russian Word Festival took place in the Republic of Crimea in Yalta. Delegations from various regions and entities of the Russian Federation, the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhie and Kherson regions, as well as creative, scientific intelligentsia, clergy, representatives of business circles and public organizations came to share the holiday of Russian and Slavic culture with the Crimeans.

The DPR delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalia Nikonorova, Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Kushakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalia Mikhailova Deputy Minister of Culture Olga Kobets and Chairman of the Education, Science and Culture Committee of the People's Council of the Donetsk People's Republic Natalia Volkova.

At the solemn opening ceremony, which traditionally took place in in the cinema-concert complex Yubileiny, Natalia Nikonorova read out a welcome address from the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin, which, in particular, said:

"We are a united people, and for the residents of Donbass, the Russian language is the basis of cultural and historical identity.
The great Russian word is our common treasure, our heritage and support."

DPR Minister added that the support of the fraternal people gives us incredible strength to move on and fight for the right to speak Russian, to think in Russian, to honor Russian history and our ancestors. Therefore, participation in the festival is a particularly significant event for us, bearing a colossal symbolism.

The Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Kirill Stepanov, Senator of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsekov, Chairman of the Ryazan Regional Duma Arkady Fomin also made welcoming speeches.

During her address Natalia Nikonorova touched upon the following topics:

Citizens of Italy were not afraid to protest against the decision of their authorities to supply the Kiev regime with various types of weapons and come out with the support of Russian and Russian-speaking residents of Europe.

For 8 years, the Kiev regime has been destroying the Donbass with planes, tanks and howitzers, infringing on our rights and freedoms, imposing a humanitarian, economic, transport blockade against us - and at the same time telling the whole world that we are terrorists and criminals.

Today, the United States is trying to aggravate the crisis not only for Ukraine and its inhabitants, but also for European countries, urging them to impose sanctions against Russia, which significantly worsen the standard of living, primarily for Europeans.

A video message from Natalia Nikonorova was shown in the Square of the Holy Apostles in Rome, where a large-scale protest against the supply of weapons to Ukraine was held.

We encourage our like-minded people in Europe to publish this appeal on all available resources. Now more than ever it is important to act as a united front in the dissemination of objective information about what is happening in Donbass and Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has fired more than 410 shells and mines from multiple launch rocket systems "Uragan", “Grad”, 155, 152 and122mm cannon artillery, as well as 120mm mortars.

The areas of 12 settlements of the Republic were under shelling. As a result of the Ukrainian aggression a civilian was killed and 11 civilians were injured. 28 residential buildings, 6 civilian infrastructure facilities and a vehicle were damaged.

Materials on the fact of wounding civilians and damage to infrastructure will be transferred to the DPR General Prosecutor's Office for inclusion in criminal cases initiated against the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Over the day, joint actions of the military personnel of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed 2 IFV-2, a cargo vehicle and up to 40 personnel. Powerful fire impact suppressed 3 enemy firing positions near Peski.

Unfortunately, there were losses among our fighters. Over the past day, in the struggle for independence, 3 defenders of the Donetsk People's Republic died in the line of military duty and 5 comrades were injured.

This year, on International Children's Day, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the first time joined the "Angels" campaign (report from the event), dedicated to the memory of children affected during the armed conflict in Donbass.

Our like-minded people from three Venezuelan regions - Caracas, Barinas and Barquisimeto - honored the memory of innocent children, launched sky lanterns and came out with posters in solidarity with the people of Donbass and Russia.
