2021-10-08 14:39:52 The Test is not about what you'll receive and what you won't receive in this world - of the comfort, wealth, status, fame, children, etc.

If comfort was the objective, then remember that the bedding of the Prophet ﷺ was made of palm fibers, and when he used to lay on it, it would leave marks on his back.

If amassing wealth was the objective, then remember that months would go by and the only thing that the Prophet ﷺ and his family would survive on were water and dates.

If children were the objective, then remember that all the Prophet's ﷺ children passed away during his lifetime except for Faatimah رضي الله عنها, who passed away six months after the Prophet's death.

The Test is whether you'll be steadfast in the face of the storm - when you feel abandoned, when the world with its vastness becomes constricted for you - obeying and worshiping Allaah تعال till death overtakes you.

Allaah تعالى said:

{So Glorify the Praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death).}
[Surah al-Hijr (15): 98-99]

We were created for the purpose of Worshiping Allaah alone, in comfort and hardship.

2021-10-08 13:54:17 The comfort of this dunyaa should only make us more humble.

Compare your Ibaadah when you are in comfort and at the times of distress. Verily the difference is really great. The eagerness to worship Allaah sincerely is more in the times of distress than in the times of comfort. The tears flow readily in distress than in comfort.

When the Dunyaa and its comfort over powers man, he tends to lose the grip on his faith and starts forgetting the purpose of his creation (even if it is for a short period):

Allaah تعالى says:

{They (the things the people worshiped besides Allaah) will say: “Glorified are You (O Allaah)! It was not for us to take any Auliyaa’ (Protectors, Helpers) besides You, but You gave them (the people) and their fathers COMFORT till they FORGOT the warning, and became a lost people (doomed to total loss).”} [Surah al-Furqaan (25): 17]

And when the purpose is forgotten, then wait for the punishment:

{Verily, We sent (Messengers) to many nations before you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). And We seized them with extreme poverty (or loss in wealth) and loss in health (with calamities) so that they might humble themselves (believe with humility). When Our torment reached them, why then did they not humble themselves (believe with humility)? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaitaan (Satan) made fair-seeming to them that which they used to do. So, when they FORGOT (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened for them the GATES OF EVERY (PLEASANT) THING, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them (in punishment), and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.} [Surah al-Anaam (6):42-44]

That’s why the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Whoever would be pleased to have Allaah respond to him during hardship and disaster should make much Duaa’ in times of ease.” [Tirmidhee (3383) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

The comforts and blessings should only make us more humble:

Narrated Aaishah رضي الله عنها: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to offer prayer at night (for such a long time) that his feet used to crack. I said: “O Allaah’s Apostle! Why do you do it since Allaah has forgiven you your faults of the past and those to follow?" He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Shouldn't I love to be a thankful slave (of Allaah)?” When he became old, he صلى الله عليه وسلم prayed while sitting, but if he wanted to perform a bowing (Rukoo`), he would get up, recite (some more verses) and then perform the bowing. [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (4837) and Saheeh Muslim (2820)].

❝Whoever He تعالى guides, then there is none to lead him astray❞

A) Those who have been given guidance, have been granted abundant good:

{He grants Hikmah to whom He pleases, and he, to whom Hikmah is granted, is indeed granted abundant good. But none remember (will receive admonition) except men of understanding.}

The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝When Allaah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion.❞

B) Definition of al-Hudaa:

If the definition of al-Hudaa (guidance) were limited to mean: “information” and “acknowledgment” only, then according to this definition even Ibees is among the guided for he did acknowledge the superiority of Allaah and he said to Allaah تعالى: “By Your Honor…” and he did acknowledge that Allaah تعالى created him and Aadam. But since he did not obey what he was commanded, so Allaah تعالى called declared him as Kaafir. Therefore, this definition of al-Hudaa is incomplete.

Shaikh al-Sa`dee رحمه الله defined al-Hudaa as: ❝Beneficial Knowledge and Righteous Deeds.❞

So, the correct definition of Al-Hudaa is that it is a blessing of Allaah تعالى upon His slaves to allow them to learn beneficial knowledge and to act upon it. Doing righteous deeds is an integral part of being guided.

C) True Guidance is the ability to convert Knowledge into Actions.

In the Qur’aan, wherever Allaah تعالى says: {He increases in guidance}, it means: an increase in beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds.

{And Allaah increases those who were guided, in guidance}

And:

{And those who are guided - He increases them in guidance and gives them their righteousness.}

❝and the mischief (evil consequences arising because) of our (bad) deeds❞

D) What we suffer for our sins is nothing as compared to how much Allaah تعالى forgives and overlooks our faults:

{And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much.}

{And if Allaah were to punish men for that which they earned, He would not leave a moving (living) creature on the surface of the earth, but He gives them respite to an appointed term, and when their term comes, then verily, Allaah is Ever All-Seer of His slaves.}

❝and the mischief (evil consequences arising because) of our (bad) deeds❞

B) What we have learned so far:

1) Earlier, we were taught to seek Allaah’s refuge from our own evil self.

2) Now we seek Allaah’s refuge from our evil deeds:

i) i.e., seeking Allaah’s protection from falling into sins.

ii) And seeking refuge from the evil consequences and punishment arising after having fallen into sin.

C) Examples of how sins affect our lives:

i) When shirk is widespread, peace, security, tranquility, and guidance are taken away.

ii) Opposing the Sunnah leads to Fitan.

iii) Disobeying the Prophet ﷺ led to the defeat in the battle of Uhud.

iv) Those who opposed the Prophet ﷺ will be driven away from the Cistern (Haud) of the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Judgment.

v) Corruption spreads in the land because of sins:

{Evil (corruption, crime) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds, etc.), that Allaah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, so that they may return (by repenting to Allaah, and begging His Pardon).}

Zainab bint Jahsh رضي الله عنها said: O Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ! Shall we be destroyed though there will be righteous people among us? The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Yes, if evil increases.❞

❝and the mischief (evil consequences arising because) of our (bad) deeds❞

A) Every action has consequences:

We reap the fruits of our deeds – good for good and evil for evil. As Allaah تعالى says:

{Is the reward for good [anything] but good?}

Allaah تعالى also said:

{And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad).}

Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله said: ❝And the saying of the Prophet ﷺ ❝and from the evil consequences of our (bad) deeds❞, evil deeds have evil consequences. As Allaah تعالى said:

{Evil (corruption, crime) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds, etc.), that Allaah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allaah, and begging His Pardon).}

Evil only attracts evil, and it only drives the person into committing more sins - even if he is unwilling to. This is why the scholars رحمهم الله have said: “Sins (and disobedience) are the gateway to Kufr.” Once a person becomes careless about sins and considers them insignificant, soon he will consider Minor sins as insignificant, thereafter, he will consider Major sins as insignificant, then he would consider acts of Kufr as insignificant, till he does acts of Kufr – and we seek Allaah’s refuge from this. Therefore, when a person feels (or is inclined towards) committing a sin he should seek Allaah’s forgiveness, seeking His refuge, and turning towards Him with repentance, till Allaah effaces the traces of sins, and that He تعالى does not put a seal over the hearts, so that a person does not reach to this stage.

{No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning}

We beseech Allaah to rectify our affairs, and to protect us from our own evil selves and the evil consequences of our bad deed.❞

Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen also said: ❝And his ﷺ saying: ❝and from our bad deeds❞ Similarly, evil deeds have their effects on the heart, the tongue and the limbs; they have their effects on individuals as well as on groups so much so that some of the people said: “I see the effects of my evil deeds in my wife and family.”

It affects one’s sustenance as well.

{And whoever fears Allaah - He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect.}

Verily, the sins do affect sustenance and they obstruct the many doors leading towards sustenance, and it also makes a person poor at heart (i.e., having bad manners, stingy etc.).❞

{You will not be in any circumstance, nor recite any portion of the Qur’aan, nor having done any deeds, but We are witnessing you.} (10:61)

{Those who have Taqwa} means: they keep away from that which is forbidden.

{and the doers of good} meaning: they do deeds of obedience to Allaah. These are the ones whom Allaah takes care of, He gives them support, and helps them to prevail over their enemies and opponents.

Tafseer al-Sa`dee:
Thereafter, the Messenger of Allaah is commanded to have patience in his call to the people towards Allaah and to seek Allaah’s help in that, and not to depend on yourself alone.

He تعالى said:
{And be patient, and your patience will not be but by the help of Allaah}, for it is Allaah who helps you and keeps you firm.

{And do not grieve over them} when you call them towards Allaah and you do not see them accepting your call. For grief does not help you in anything.

{And do not be distressed} means do not be upset or hard on yourself.

{by their plots} because their plots will be turned against them, for you are among those who have Taqwa and are doers of good.

Allaah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good with His constant support and help. They are those who fear of falling into Kufr and disobedience, and they do Ihsaan in their worship of Allaah. They worship Allaah as if they are seeing Him, but if they cannot reach this level of devotion, they at least keep in mind that Allaah is seeing them. And they do Ihsaan in their dealing with the creation by benefitting them in every way possible.

May Allaah make us of those who have Taqwa and are good doers.

2021-10-06 05:55:47 You're patience is from Allaah...
Tafseer Muyassar
Tafseer Ibn Katheer
Tafseer al-Sadee

{And be patient, [O Muhammad ﷺ], and your patience is not but through Allaah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire. Indeed, Allaah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.}
[Surah al-Nahl (16): 127-128]

Tafseer:

Tafseer al-Muyassar:

{And be patient} – O Messenger of Allaah – on what has touched of the harm in the path of Allaah till you receive relief (from Allaah).

{and your patience is not but through Allaah}, for it is Allaah who helps you in being patient and keeps you firm.

{and do not grieve over them} when they oppose you and do not answer your Dawah (towards Allaah). And do not be upset by their plots and plans, for the evil consequences of their plots will all return to them. For verily, Allaah – سبحانه وتعالى – with His help, support, assistance and aid (victory) is with those who have Taqwa (fear Him), depending on the level of their obedience to His Commands and keeping away from what He has forbidden; and He is with those who do righteous deeds: performing the obligations, fulfilling His rights, and adhering to His Commands.
--end of quote

Tafseer Ibn Katheer (Darussalam):

{And be patient, and your patience will not be but by the help of Allaah} This emphasizes the command to be patient and tells us that patience cannot be acquired except by the will, help, decree and power of Allaah.

Then Allaah says:
{And do not grieve over them} meaning: those who oppose you, for Allaah has decreed that this should happen.

{And do not be distressed} means do not be worried or upset.

{by their plots} meaning: because of the efforts they are putting into opposing you and causing you harm, for Allaah is protecting, helping, and supporting you, and He will cause you to prevail and defeat them.

{Truly, Allaah is with those who have Taqwa, and the doers of good} meaning: He is with them in the sense of supporting them, helping them and guiding them. This is a special kind of “being with”, as Allaah says elsewhere:

{(Remember) when your Lord revealed to the angels, “Verily, I am with you, so support those who believe”} (8:12)

And Allah said to Moosaa and Haaroon:
{Fear not, verily I am with you both, hearing and seeing.} (20:46)

The Prophet ﷺ said to (Abu Bakr) al-Siddiee when they were in the cave:
❝Do not worry, Allaah is with us.❞
The general kind of “being with” someone, or something is by means of seeing, hearing and knowing, as Allaah says:

{And He is with you wherever you may be. And Allaah sees whatever you do.} (57:4)

{Have you not seen that Allaah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth There is no secret counsel of three but He is their fourth, - nor of five but He is their sixth, - nor of less than that or more, but He is with them wherever they may be.} (58:7)
