2022-02-06 10:25:12 Then Abū Zurʿah said: I memorised two-hundred thousand aḥadīth, as (easily as) a person would memorize: {Qul Huwallahu Ahad} [112:1].

And according to another narration he is narrated to have said: “Three-hundred thousand aḥadīth.”

2022-02-05 09:49:05 ʿAbd Allah b. Masʿūd, (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me the Tashahhud, while my palm was between his two palms, just as he would teach me a Sūrah from the Qurʾān:
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَيْفٌ قَالَ، سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا يَقُولُ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَخْبَرَةَ أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ: عَلَّمَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وَكَفِّي بَيْنَ كَفَّيْهِ- التَّشَهُّدَ كَمَا يُعَلِّمُنِي السُّورَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ:

“At-Taḥiyyatu lillahi was-ṣalawātu wat-ṭayyibāt,
"التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ،

al-salāmu ʿalaika ayyuhan-nabi waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuhu,
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ،

al-salāmu ʿalainā, wa ʿalá ʿibādillahis-ṣāliḥin,
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحِينَ،

ash-hadu al-lā ilāhā illa Allah,
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ،

wa ash-hadu anna Muḥammadan ʿabduhu wa rasulūhu.”
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ".

We recited this while he was alive among us.
وَهْوَ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْنَا،

So when he died, we said: al-Salām, meaning: [al-salāmu] ʿala al-Nabi ﷺ.
فَلَمَّا قُبِضَ قُلْنَا: السَّلاَمُ. يَعْنِي: عَلَى النَّبِيِّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -. [انظر: 831 - مسلم: 402 - فتح 11/56]

وروى أن أبا عثمان اجتاز بسكة وقت الهاجرة، فألقي عليه من فوق سطح بيت طست رماد،

His companions became angry and started to rebuke those people.
فتغير أصحابه وبسطوا ألسنتهم في الملقي،

Abū ʿUthmān said to them: “Do not say anything, a person (ie: believing himself to be sinful out of humility) who deserves al-Nār (ie: the Hellfire), has no right to complain about ashes.”
فقال أبو عثمان: لا تقولوا شيئاً، من يستحق أن يصب عليه النار فصولح على الرماد لم يجز له أن يغضب.

2022-02-02 13:19:13 (Shaykh Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Wahāb said): I do not testify that anyone from the Muslims are in Paradise or in the Hellfire except for those whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has testified.
ولا أشهد لأحد من المسلمين بجنة ولا نار، إلا من شهد له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

However I hope for the righteous and fear for the sinner.
ولكني أرجو للمحسن، وأخاف على المسيء.

And I do not accuse anyone from the Muslims of being a kāfir (ie: disbeliever) due to a sin, and I do not expel them from the fold of Islām.
ولا أكفر أحدا من المسلمين بذنب، ولا أخرجه من دائرة الإسلام.

2022-02-02 08:57:30 Sufyān b. al-Ḥusayn said: I spoke ill of someone in the presence of Iyās b. Muʿāwiyah who looked me straight in the face and said, “Have you fought in Rome?”
عن سفيان بن حسين قال: ((ذكرت رجلاً بسوء عند إياس بن معاوية، فنظر في وجهي، وقال: أغزوتَ الرومَ؟

I said: “No.”
قلت: لا،

He said: “(Have you fought) the Sind, the Indians and the Turks?”
قال: فالسِّند والهند والترك؟

I said: “No.”
قلت: لا،

He then said, “Will the Romans, the Sind, the Indians and the Turks be safe from your harm and your Muslim brother not be safe from your harm?”
قال: أفَتسلَم منك الروم والسِّند والهند والترك، ولم يسلَمْ منك أخوك المسلم؟!

Sufyān said, “(From that day onward) I never spoke ill of anybody.”
قال: فلَم أعُد بعدها)).

2022-02-01 10:23:11 When (Imām Aḥmad) was requested by al-Muʿtaṣim (ie: the ruler of his time) to discuss a certain matter with Ibn Abī Duwād (ie: the one who propagated that the Qurʾān was created), he (ie: Imām Aḥmad) turned his face away and said: “How can I converse with a person whom I have never seen at the door of any ʿālim (ie: scholar)?”

2022-02-01 09:25:19 The truth is that which the first generation of Muslims were upon since the time of the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions. The proliferation of the position of the people of falsehood after them is immaterial.

لأن الحق هو الذي كانت عليه الجماعة الأولى من عهد النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وأصحابه، ولا نظر إلى كثرة أهل الباطل بعدهم.
