Lengkuas Ranting, Lengkuas Kecil, Lengkuas Padang or Lengkuas Geting - have your pick! There are many common names for the
Alpinia conchigera, a perennial ginger that produces white flowers with reddish streaks and pink or red round fruits.
Although native to Singapore, it’s presumed Nationally Extinct. However, you can find it planted in the Ginger Garden at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Have you taken the time to explore Windsor Nature Park?
Don’t miss the Drongo trail, a 150m-long elevated boardwalk that lets you experience the forest at the sub-canopy level!
The Hanguana Trail is where you’ll find rare and endangered native plants, some of them even named after Singapore (such as the Singapore Ginger and Singapore Durian)!

The Cempedak (
Artocarpus integer) is in the same genus as the Breadfruit and Jackfruit.
Have you ever tasted its ripe fruits? They emit a pungent smell, though the seeds can be sweet. Cempedak can be eaten ripe, fried, in cakes, or even in ice cream!
