While the male is out gathering fruits, insects and lizards, the female is at home caring for her chicks. The nest usually has a small slit so that the male can feed fruits, insects, and lizards to his family.

Did you know that crabs must moult in order to grow? They can even regenerate their limbs through this process! After moulting, freshwater crabs will consume their old shell to conserve valuable calcium salts.
