Photographed from an unknown destroyer, the Allen M. Sumner class destroyer, USS Moale (DD-693) leads two Fletcher class DDs off of Guam in 1945. This picture, taken by Eliot Elisofon, appeared on the cover of the 2 July 1945 issue of Life Magazine. The Moale is wearing Measure 22 camouflage, while the accompanying Fletchers sport Measure 21 schemes.

Cold War Color XII
Block 10C F-16A, SN 80-0499, is seen above sitting on the ramp at Nellis Air Force Base sometime between August of 1981 and April of 1989. This particular jet was assigned to the 430th Tactical Fighter Squadron at the time of this photograph. The Viper above would go on to serve with the Air Force until 1991, when it was assigned to the Arizona Air National Guard. The jet was eventually retired to AMARG in the fall of 2000, where it sat until February of 2018. From there, it was delivered to Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum in Colorado, where it was restored and put on display in August of 2018.

Two Grumman F-14A Tomcats of VF-33 “Starfighters” fly over the coast of Puerto Rico on 1 April 1990. VF-33 was assigned to USS America (CV-66) and would go on to take part in Operation Desert Storm less than a year after this photo was taken. The Strafighters were one of only two Tomcat squadrons to fly missions from both the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm.
