When we eat more water-rich foods, we absorb water more slowly because it is trapped in the structure of these foods. Water in food stays in our bodies longer, with a multitude of additional benefits.

By eating your water, you are not only hydrating with H2O, but are also filling your body with everything it needs to become strong and healthy. Our bodies are constantly regenerating, creating new cells to replace old, damaged ones. So, it is important that we eat and drink with a deliberate focus on promoting cellular health.

The best way to do this is to keep our body saturated with cell-building elements such as vitamin A, alpha lipoic acid, oleic acid, polyphenols, folic acid and vitamin C. These nutrients can all be found in water

Eating healthy can be fairly simple, the rise in popular “diets” and dieting trends has caused confusion.

In fact, these trends often distract from the basic nutrition principles that are most important. It’s just a small beginner’s guide from me about healthy eating, based on the latest in nutrition science.

Why Should You Eat Healthy?

Poor diet links you to serious diseases. For example, eating healthy can drastically reduce your chances of developing heart disease and cancer, the world’s leading killers..

A good diet can improve all aspects of life, from brain function to physical performance. In fact, food affects all your cells and organs. If you do exercise or sports, there is no doubt that a healthy diet will help you perform better.

Eating Whole Foods is Important

You should aim to consume whole foods at least 80-90% of the time. The term “whole foods” generally describes natural, unprocessed foods containing only one ingredient.

If the product looks like it was made in a factory, then it’s probably not a whole food.
Whole foods tend to be nutrient-dense and have a lower energy density. This means that they have fewer calories and more nutrients per serving.

And always remember: You Are What You Eat

Studies conducted at the South Dakota State University show that freezing blueberries makes their powerful antioxidants more available to the human body.

This is because anthocyanins, the antioxidant compounds that make blueberries blue, are found in the skin of the berry. Freezing the berries creates tiny ice crystals that disrupt the structure of the cells, which in turn makes it easier for our system to access the anthocyanins contained within the skin

Your hair is said to be your crowning glory, and it’s normal to want to improve your hair. If you’re trying to regrow hair that you’ve lost or would simply like to improve the hair that you have, try some of these natural remedies. Their proven benefits can help to stimulate growth and enhance the hair that you have.

Iron
This crucial nutrient helps your body make blood, and low levels of it are linked to hair loss. The reason why isn’t clear, but make sure you eat plenty of iron-rich foods like meat, fish, poultry, tofu, broccoli, and all kinds of greens.

Biotin
Some doctors prescribe biotin (a.k.a. vitamin B7) for hair loss and get good results. Although it’s safe, you probably get plenty from the foods you eat. Eggs, wheat germ, and mushrooms all contain a high amount of biotin.

Zinc
Since zinc helps with most processes in your body that keep you alive, it’s no surprise that it also strengthens the follicles under your scalp that nourish your hair. Your body doesn’t have a way to store zinc, so you need some in your diet every day. If your levels are low, there’s some proof that taking zinc by mouth could help with hair loss, but more research is needed.

Saw Palmetto
From the fruit of a small palm tree comes this herbal remedy, which is sometimes hyped as a hair growth wonder drug. Some studies have shown that it keeps the male hormone testosterone from breaking down, which can help prevent hair loss. While it’s unclear how well saw palmetto works, the good news is that it’s believed to be safe, can be taken with other drugs, and doesn’t cost much to try.

Melatonin
You may know melatonin as the “sleep hormone.” Many people take it as a supplement for a good night’s rest or to cut jet lag. But a cream with melatonin can also boost hair growth or slow down hair loss. The reasons aren’t clear, but in a study, people who used a melatonin mixture on their scalp saw less hair loss in 30 days.

Pumpkinseed Oil
Daily doses of pumpkinseed oil taken by mouth could safely help bring your hair back. While more research is needed, one small study found that men who took four capsules of PSO each day for 6 months saw their hair count increase by 40%. One reason why? Like saw palmetto, pumpkinseed oil could block testosterone from changing into a compound called DHT, which is linked to hair loss.
