2022-02-08 20:25:13 The Pentagon’s Response to the Explosive U.S. Military Medical Data is an Even Bigger Story Than the Data Itself

@COVID19Up: One thing is clear about the 2021 U.S. military epidemiological data revealed by Department of Defense (DoD) whistleblowers on January 24, 2022 and the military’s response to it: There is undoubtedly a public health crisis in the military, and the Pentagon only seems to be concerned with exonerating the COVID-19 vaccine, not fixing its own problem.

In case you missed it, the U.S. military’s health surveillance system—DMED—showed a massive increase in sickness and injury diagnoses in 2021 over previous years, particularly in the neurological, cardiovascular, oncological, and reproductive health categories. In a statement to PolitiFact last week, the military admitted as much, but claimed without evidence that the data in the system accessed by several military doctors working with attorney Thomas Renz was only a “fraction” of the "true" numbers that existed in previous years, due to an unexplained “glitch in the database.”

Where those "true" numbers existed this whole time, why they weren’t in the system for five years and how nobody noticed, what exactly was in the system, and why the 2021 numbers were suddenly accurate again—according to the DoD account—remain a mystery.

Last week, military health officials quietly added over 100 million reports of disease and injury to the data from 2016 through 2020, making it look as though 2021 was not an abnormal year. This has been done without any transparency, press release, or statement of narrative.

The U.S. military is claiming that every epidemiological report for five years was somehow completely tainted with false data, and we are supposed to believe that when they finally discovered this massive "glitch in the database" thanks to Renz and three whistleblowers, they suddenly discovered the exact numbers. A five-year mistake fixed overnight.

However, at last week’s meeting of the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, officials revealed they've been monitoring the U.S. military's COVID-19 vaccine safety data.

That would mean the CDC was looking at data for months that showed off-the-charts, never-before-seen safety signals and did nothing at all about it, while nobody at HHS or the DoD ever noticed there was a massive data “glitch.”

The silence both from corporate media and congressional members of the House and Senate Armed Services Committees is astounding.

This may be the biggest story of the year.

@G3News: Eric Lander, a top science adviser to President Joe Biden, resigned late Monday (Feb. 7) after a White House investigation that found he had violated workplace policies became public.

Lander wrote that his resignation will be effective "no later than February 18 in order to permit an orderly transfer."

The resignation of the President's science adviser and director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy comes just a day after damning reports surfaced that he had been the subject of an internal investigation late last year after a complaint was filed under the Executive Office of the President's Safe and Respectful Workplace Policy.

2022-02-08 16:39:27 SocArXiv Withdraws "Unethical" Paper on Mexico City's "Experimental" Public Health Strategy of Giving Ivermectin to People With COVID-19 for Free

@COVID19Up: After immense public pressure, SocArXiv’s steering committee has decided to withdraw the paper, “Ivermectin and the odds of hospitalization due to COVID-19: evidence from a quasi-experimental analysis based on a public intervention in Mexico City,” by Jose Merino, Victor Hugo Borja, Oliva Lopez, José Alfredo Ochoa, Eduardo Clark, Lila Petersen, and Saul Caballero.

The paper is a report on the public health strategy adopted in Mexico City that offered people free ivermectin-based medical kits when they tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. The conclusion of the paper is, “The study supports ivermectin-based interventions to assuage the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health system.”

However, in response to a report that the government of Mexico City spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on ivermectin, which it still distributes (as of January 2022) to people who test positive for SARS-CoV-2, University of California-San Diego sociology professor Juan Pablo Pardo-Guerra posted an appeal to SocArXiv asking the site to immediately remove the “deeply problematic and unethical paper and ban its authors."

Pardo-Guerra's appeal, which went viral on Twitter, argued that the authors unethically recruited experimental subjects by offering free ivermectin-based medical kits to people with COVID-19.

In an article explaining why the paper had to be withdrawn, director of SocArXiv, Philip N. Cohen, said: "I am not a medical researcher, although I am a social scientist reasonably well-versed in public health research. I won’t provide a scholarly review of research on ivermectin. However, it is clear from the record of authoritative statements by global and national public health agencies that, at present, ivermectin should not be used as a treatment or preventative for COVID-19 outside of carefully controlled clinical studies, which this clearly was not."

He then linked to statements from the WHO, the U.S. CDC, the U.S. NIH, the U.S. FDA, and the EMA as evidence. Cohen also said the "fact-checker" PolitiFact had already "debunked" the paper.

"In light of demonstrable harms like those associated with this paper, and in response to a community groundswell beseeching us to act, we are withdrawing this paper."

Those who have been following my work for awhile may remember the in-depth foreign policy analysis I did of the Trump Administration over a year ago, condemning its proliferation of the war machine and escalating encroachments of nations sovereignty.

@G3News: Billionaire tech investor and PayPal Co-founder Peter Thiel will step down from the board of Facebook owner Meta, the company announced Monday.

Thiel, an early Facebook investor and close confidante of CEO Mark Zuckerberg, will not stand for re-election to the board at the company’s 2022 annual stockholders’ meeting. He will continue to serve on the board until the annual meeting, the company said.

Thiel has been on the Facebook board since 2005.

2022-02-08 00:49:54 Homeland Security Warns of Domestic and Foreign Terror Attacks in U.S. After Recent Bomb Threats, Hostage Incident

@G3News: The Department of Homeland Security warned of a heightened threat of domestic and foreign terrorism across the U.S. in a bulletin issued on Monday (Feb. 7) that won't expire until June 2022.

The threat of terrorism will remain at a heightened level for the next four months after recent bomb threats made to at least six historically Black colleges and the hostage incident at a synagogue in Texas.

The National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin warns that online conspiracy theories and other forms of misinformation, disinformation have motivated terrorists to "exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in the government."

"The recent attack on a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, highlights the continuing threat of violence based upon racial or religious motivations, as well as threats against faith-based organizations," the bulletin reads.

"Threats directed at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other colleges and universities, Jewish facilities, and churches cause concern and may inspire extremist threat actors to mobilize to violence," the bulletin continues.

"The convergence of violent extremist ideologies, false or misleading narratives, and conspiracy theories have and will continue to contribute to a heightened threat of violence in the United States."

2022-02-07 23:51:20 Judge Bans Honking in Downtown Ottawa for at Least the Next 10 Days

@COVID19Up: Ontario Superior Court Justice Hugh McLean on Monday (Feb. 7) granted a 10-day injunction that bans truckers parked in downtown Ottawa from honking their horns.

Judge McLean said the injunction is temporary because he needs to hear more evidence and “myriad of people” may still wish to come before the court to be heard.

However, McLean said he heard enough evidence that the continual blaring of horns was having an effect on residents that their right for “quiet, if we can use that term,” trumped the honking truckers’ right to protest.

The hearing adjourned and the court is slated to hear more evidence on how the injunction will be enforced.
