2022-08-31 20:04:39 Shaykh ibn Baz ( رحمة الله):

"When the need (you have) is delayed (from being fulfilled), don’t blame your Lord.

Don’t say: Why, why (haven’t you answered my du’a) my Lord?!

Rather, it’s upon you to return back to yourself and take account of yourself, for indeed your Lord is All-Wise and All-Knowing.

Therefore, return back to yourself and look. Perhaps you have something with you from the sins and the acts of disobedience which is the reason for the delay in the answer (for your du’a)."

2022-08-31 19:53:42 HARAAM THINGS PREVENT A SUPPLICATION FROM BEING ACCEPTED

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "O people! Allah is Tayyib (good) and does not accept anything but which is good. Allah has enjoined upon the believers that which He has enjoined upon the Messengers. He says: 'O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Tayyibat [the lawful] and do righteous deeds. Verily I am well acquainted with what you do.' (23:51) And He says: 'O you who believe! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you with.' (2:172)

Then he (ﷺ) mentioned a man who has undertaken a lengthy journey and is disheveled and dusty, raising his hands towards heaven and saying: 'O Lord, O Lord!' But his food is unlawful (haraam), his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful, and he is nourished with what is unlawful, so how can he receive a response?"

2022-08-29 21:01:37 Whoever Swears By Other Than Allah, HE HAS COMMITTED SHIRK

Sa'd bin 'Ubaidah (رضى الله عنه) narrated that Ibn 'Umar (رضى الله عنهم) heard a man saying: "No by the Ka'bah." So Ibn 'Umar (رضى الله عنهم) said: "Nothing is sworn by other than Allah, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:

"Whoever swears by (something) other than Allah, he has committed disbelief (kufr) or Shirk."

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Say:

(Allahumma ihdini wa saddidni)

Oh Allah guide me and make me steadfast.

and when you make a mention of right guidance, keep in mind the right path and when you consider of the straight (path), keep in mind the straightness of the arrow."

: Sahih Muslim 2725 (6911)

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Say:

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR POINT 6, 8 & 9:

6. Hajj For Others

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (رحمة الله ) was asked: I have a nephew who got cancer - I seek refuge for you and all the Muslims from that - and he died this year at the age of 19, without having done the obligatory Hajj. Please note that he got this disease five years ago. Should we do Hajj on his behalf? Is there any expiation?

He (رحمة الله) replied: "It is essential to ask: did this young man have wealth with which he could have done Hajj? If that is the case, then Hajj must be done on his behalf. But if he did not have any wealth, then Hajj was not obligatory for him and he has died free of any obligation. But if they want to do Hajj voluntarily on his behalf, there is nothing wrong with that."

8 & 9. Paying Debts of Parents

"..you are not obliged to pay off her debts – even if she is Muslim – either during her lifetime or after she dies, unless she has left money behind, in which case you must pay off her debts from her money (the estate) because that has to do with people’s rights to the money. If there is enough money to pay off the debts, all well and good, otherwise none of them has the right to ask you to pay off the debt, because the debt was owed by your mother, not by you, and you have nothing to do with it. But if she dies as a Muslim, then it is recommended for you to pay off her debts as a way of honouring her, but it is not obligatory."

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (رحمة الله) said: "The heirs are not obliged to pay off the debts of the deceased, rather it should be paid from his (deceased) estate."

"..he (heir) is not obliged to pay off his father’s debts, but if the father left anything behind, this should be used to pay off the debts. If he did not leave anything, then the matter is up to Allah.."

DEEDS One Can Do To Honor Their Parents After Their Death

9. Paying Their Debts (owed to Allah and owed to People)

IMPORTANT POINTS:

• If the deceased left behind enough wealth to pay off his debts, then the heir should pay off the debt before offering the funeral prayer for him, because of the serious nature of debt.

If it is not possible to pay off the debts immediately, because there is no ready cash or because the wealth is not available and so on, then it is recommended for his heir or for others to take responsibility for paying it on his behalf, for the sake of Allah, because if they delay or refuse to pay off his debts, they are sinning by denying that right or delaying payment thereof, and if they are children of the deceased, in which case this is a kind of disobedience and defiance towards parents as is obvious to anyone, because the deceased will be affected by the debt that he still owes.

• If a person dies and leaves behind wealth, then what his heirs must do is to begin by preparing him for burial and shrouding him, paying the costs thereof from the estate, then after that they must pay any outstanding debts from the estate, then fulfil any bequests from one third of the estate, if the deceased left any instructions to that effect. All of that must be done before dividing the estate among those heirs who are entitled to a share.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"The believer's soul is suspended by his debt until it is settled for him."

: Jami at-Tirmidhi 1079 | Hasan

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"Anyone whose soul leaves his body and he is free of three things, will enter Paradise: Arrogance, stealing from the spoils of war, and debt."

DEEDS One Can Do To Honor Their Parents After Their Death

8. Fulfilling Their Vows

A woman came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "My mother vowed to perform the Hajj but she died before performing it. Should I perform the Hajj on her behalf?"

He (ﷺ) said: "Yes! Perform the Hajj on her behalf. See, if your mother had been in debt, would you have paid her debt?"

She said: "Yes."

He (ﷺ) said: "So you should pay what is for Him as Allah has more right that one should fulfill one's obligations to Him."
