« اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ ضِيقِ الدُّنْيَا وَضِيقِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏»

(Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min diqid-dunya wa diqi yawmil-qiyamati)

O Allah, I seek refuge with You from hardship in this world and hardship on the Day of Resurrection.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"The first thing for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be his prayer. If it is complete, then the voluntary (prayers) will also be recorded for him (as an increase).

If it is not complete then Allah will say to His angels: 'Look and see whether you find any voluntary prayers for slave, and take them to make up what is lacking from his obligatory prayers.' Then all his deeds will be reckoned in like manner."

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"The first thing concerning which a person will be brought to account will be the Salah, and the first thing concerning which scores will be settled among the people, will be bloodshed."

NOTE: Only minor sins are forgiven, major sins are not forgiven until one makes sincere repentance – as said by scholars – so if you repent sincerely, make tawbah sincerely, then Allah will forgive your major sins as well as He has promised us Alhamdulillah.

Allah Ta'ala says in Qur'an, ayah (39:53):

Say: "O Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Belief In The Qadr (Divine Decree) and Submission to It

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive to do that which will benefit you (in the Hereafter) and seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If anything befalls you (in the form of trouble), do not say: 'If only I had done (such and such), then such and such would have happened', rather say:

« قَدَرُ اللَّهِ وَمَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ »

(Qadaru Allahi wa ma sha'a fa'ala)

Allah has decreed and what He wills, He does.

for (saying) 'if only' opens the door to the work of the Shaitan."

: Sahih Muslim 2664 (6774)
