• Astagfirullaha wa aatubu ilayhi — 100 times

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"I seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him one hundred times each day."

• Rabbighfirli wa tub alayya innaka antat tawwabur rahim — 100 times

Ibn Umar (رضى الله عنه) said: "We used to count that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said one hundred times in a gathering:

« رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَىَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ »

"O Allah forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful."

• Alhamdulillah, Subhan Allah, La ilaha illal lah, Allahu Akbar

The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by a tree with dry leaves, so he struck it with his staff, making the leaves fall. Then he said:

"Indeed, Alhamdulillah (all praise is due to Allah), Subhan Allah (glory to Allah), La ilaha illal lah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the greatest) cause the sins to fall from the worshipper, just as the leaves of this tree fall."

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"What you mention of glory of Allah are Subhan-Allah, La ilaha illal lah, Alhamdulillah – revolves around the Throne, buzzing like bees, reminding of the one who said it. Wouldn't any one of you like to have, or continue to have, something that reminds of him (in the presence of Allah)?"

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"The best of remembrance (dhikr) is La ilaha illallah (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and the best of supplication (duaa) is Alhamdullilah (praise be to Allah)."

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Is it too difficult for any one of you to earn one thousand Hasanah (good deeds) every day?"

One of those who were sitting with him asked him: "How can one of us earn one thousand Hasanah (good deeds)?"

He (ﷺ) said: "If he says one hundred Tasbih (saying 'Subhan Allah), then one thousand Hasanah (good deeds) will be recorded for him, and one thousand bad deeds will be erased for him."

"اے اہل ایمان! الله اور اس کے رسول (ﷺ) کی اطاعت کرو اور اس سے منہ نہ موڑو جبکہ تم سن رہے ہو۔ اور ان لوگوں کی مانند مت ہوجاؤ جو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے سن لیا اور حقیقت میں وہ سنتے نہیں ہیں۔"

2022-02-28 20:56:13 Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمة الله) said:

"As for inventing a Salah that comprises of a specific number of rakaat where a specific number of verses are recited at a specific time and is prayed as an optional prayer congregationally like the following salawat (prayers): “Ṣalāt ar-Raghā`ib that is prayed on the first Jumu’ah of Rajab, or the al-Alfiyyah (i.e. the 100 rakaat Salah wherein Surah al-Ikhlas is recited 1000 times) that is prayed in the beginning of Rajab, or the 15th of Shaban, or the 27th night of Rajab and others like this, then this was not legislated by consensus of the Imams of Islam as stated by the ‘Ulamā’ who are reliable. No one will invent such a Salah except that is ignorant and is an innovator."

FASTING 27th RAJAB AND SPENDING THAT NIGHT IN PRAYER?

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (رحمة الله) was asked about fasting on the 27th of Rajab and spending that night in prayer.

He replied: "Fasting on the 27th of Rajab and spending that night in prayer is a bid’ah (innovation), and every bid’ah is a going astray."
