RUQYAH — Reciting Qur’an and saying authentically reported supplications over the sick seeking healing from every disease, evil eye, or the evil effects of sorcery, etc (In sha Allah), one of the Islamically-prescribed remedies that a person may use to protect himself from physical and psychological harm, and harm caused by the shayatin (devils)

A Muslim can recite ruqyah for himself and for others. It is Sunnah, for the Messenger (ﷺ) recited ruqyah for himself and for others, and some of his companions recited ruqyah for themselves.

It was narrated that ‘Awf bin Malik Al-Ashja’I (رضى الله عنه) said: We used to recite Ruqyah during the Jahiliyyah (pre-islamic period) and we said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about that?"

He (ﷺ) said: "Present your Ruqyah to me. There is nothing wrong with a Ruqyah that does not involve Shirk."

: Sahih Muslim 2200 (5732)

A man was stung by a scorpion when we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and a man said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall I recite Ruqyah?"

He (ﷺ) said: "Whoever among you can benefit his brother, let him do so."

: Sahih Muslim 2199 (5727)

Recommendations For What You Can Recite In sha Allah:

• Ayat al-Kursi (verse 2:255)
• Surah al-Fatiha
• The last 3 Surah of the Quran (Surah al-Falaq, Surah an-Nas, and Surah al-Ikhlas)
• Surah al-Baqarah or/and The last 2 verses of it (verses 285 & 286)
• And you can add to that any Prophetic Duaa.

How To Perform Ruqyah:

• You can recite Ruqyah over yourself (or others) by gathering the palms of your hands and reciting in them the ruqyah and then blow in your hands and wipe the area that is ill and hurting you.

• You can also spit a little and wipe that over the area.

• Likewise, you can also recite ruqyah over some water, Zamzam water preferably, blow into it then drink it and wash with it.

• You can also recite ruqyah over olive oil or black seed oil and then rub or massage it over your skin.

• You can also place the right hand on the place of pain and make duaa.

• You can also perform ruqyah by mixing some earth with saliva.

• You can also just recite the words of ruqyah (without blowing over yourself or water).

2022-06-16 20:32:32 THE VIRTUES OF THE QUR'AN

A man was reciting Surat Al-Kahf and his horse was tied with two ropes beside him. A cloud came down and spread over that man, and it kept
on coming closer and closer to him till his horse started jumping (as if afraid of something). When it was morning, the man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and told him of that experience.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "That was As-Sakinah (tranquillity or peace or calmness) which descended because of (the recitation of) the Qur'an."

: Sahih Bukhari 5011

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "That was the tranquility which descends with the Qur'an, or descends because of the Qur'an."

: Jami at-Tirmidhi 2885 | Sahih

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "That was the Angels who were listening to you. If you had carried on reciting, the people would have seen them in the morning, and they would not have concealed themselves from them."

: Sahih Muslim 796 (1859)

BE CAREFUL Of Where You Take Your Knowledge From

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:

"Allah does not take away the knowledge by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the religious learned men remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray."

: Sahih Bukhari 100

ISTIKHARA — Prayer For Seeking Guidance, Asking Allah To Guide One To The Right Sort of Action Concerning Any Job or Deed

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah (رضى الله عنه): The Prophet (ﷺ) used to teach us the way of doing Istikhara in all matters as he taught us the surahs of the Qur'an.

He (ﷺ) said: "If anyone of you decides to do any job, he should offer a two rak'ah prayer other than the compulsory ones and say (after the prayer):

(Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi'ilmika, wa astaqdiruka bi-qudratika, wa as'aluka min fadlikal-azimi, fa-innaka taqdiru wala aqdiru, wa ta'lamu wala a'lamu, wa anta allamul-guyubi. Allahumma in kunta ta'lamu anna hadhal-amra khairun li, fi dini wa ma'ashi wa aqibati amri (or said – ajili amri wa'ajilihi), faqdurhu li wa yas-sirhu li, thumma barik li fihi, wa in kunta ta'lamu anna hadhal-amra shar-run li, fi dini wa ma'ashi wa aqibati amri (or said – fi ajili amri wa'ajilihi), fasrifhu anni was-rifni anhu, waqdurli al-khaira haithu kana thumma ardini bihi)

O Allah, I consult You as You are All-Knowing, and appeal to You to give me power as You are Omnipotent, and ask You for Your Great Favour, for You have power, but I don't, and You have knowledge, but I don't have, and You know all hidden matters. O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and for my life in the Hereafter (or said – for my present, and future life), then do it for me; and if You know that this matter is evil (not good) for me in my religion, my livelihood, and for my life in the Hereafter (or said – for my present and future life), then keep it away from me and take me away from it, and choose what is good for me wherever it is, and please me with it."

The Prophet (ﷺ) added that then the person should name (mention) his need (matter).

: Sahih Bukhari 1162 (1166)
