Today is World Mental Health Day

We are a global mental health platform and community where people of all walks of life are able to share their mental health struggles in a safe, non-judgemental, and affirming space with over 25,000 Huddlers and growing.

We are grateful to have mentors, advocates, and peer leaders from every continent in the world who keep our community safe 24/7, and provide a non-judgemental environment for our members by sharing their own struggles, helping to unpack the mental health struggles of our Huddlers, as well as share helpful materials such as coping methods and crisis hotlines, amongst many others.

What have we learnt so far?

It is important to acknowledge someone else’s experiences and listen to them attentively

It is important to be respectful and understanding

Everyone has a story and a different background

A safe, affirming, and non-judgemental environment should be the foundation of any healthy interaction platform!

Every parent is given an important role to make a difference in their child’s life. The blueprint in a child’s life is built on observing their parents. One avenue that is often neglected is emotional intelligence. It is not society’s forte to lean on consistency. The world we live in today largely revolves around crisis management and quick fixes. These work superbly for the external parts of life such as our job, title, status, appearance etc. But soft skills takes more than just a five minutes software update. It takes patience, honesty, love, empathy and compassion. Skills that have long been forgotten.

“we are awakening to the idea of EQ (emotional quotient) being equally important as IQ (intelligence quotient).”

How can parents attend to their child’s emotional needs even when it can be unfamiliar and unpredictable?

In light of BPD awareness week, we share some insight into what BPD is, it’s symptoms and some effective treatments used to treat BPD.

Do you struggle with BPD?

As always, with any mental health experiences, you should always seek professional help first.

Huddlehumans provides a space with diagnostic discussion forums on our Discord channel where you can share your BPD experiences and hear from others with similar experiences, including coping methods and treatments that has helped.

Huddlehumans strives to normalise the sharing of our mental health struggles so we can walk with each other on a journey to get better.

At some point it's best to break things up when your struggling.

Taking the time with yourself or with someone when you reach out can be beneficial.

This allows you to calm the voices and somewhere find your inner voice.

We can see that mental health is something we all need to take care of.

So today find one or two things that are good in your life and hope that provides hope.
