-KENNETH FOO-A great evening spent with Abdul Shariff and team visiting residents in Bedok North of East Coast GRC.
While taking a break at a nearby kopitiam after the session, a resident approached us and I recognized her immediately. I met this resident during our market visit and she seek help for unlawful dismissal and there were still unpaid wages to settle. I referred the resident to one of our MPs and glad to hear that the case had been resolved with the help of our MP and the wages outstanding will be paid. The resident was extremely glad and thankful for our assistance.
Such a fulfilling night and hope that we will be able to reach out to and help more residents with the challenges they face in the course of our visits.

One of the aunties even enthusiastically showed us pictures of past WP rallies she attended, staying up past 3am after the results were announced (I admit that I didn’t stay till that late back in the days of physical rallies ).
Saw a couple of crates of durians freshly delivered…so I naturally couldn’t resist them and bought some 猫山王 durians home to savour. Yummy!

-LEON PERERA-This weekend's market outreach brought us to the coffee shops at Blk 151 and 147 Serangoon North Avenue 1, followed by a stroll in Hwi Yoh Park. Many constituents shared that they are feeling the pain from rising prices for food, energy, petrol and other items. But despite this economic gloom, it was good to exchange smiles and jokes with constituents enjoying breakfast. Was blown away to meet not one but two families who had just moved into the neighbourhood! I also met cute Brownie, a dog who is three years and 10 months old, together with her owner.

-FADLI FAWZI-As was common these nights, our house visit at Marine Crescent was punctuated by heavy rain. Fortunately, team Marine Blue always comes equipped with a trusty WP umbrella or two. We also had another obstacle while doing house visits: the lift broke down!
Fortunately, neither rain nor lift breakdown can deter our small but growing (both in numbers and in spirit) band of volunteers. We continued with our house visits and were rewarded with quite a bit of useful feedback, both about various estate matters, such as frequent lift breakdowns as well as the traffic issues the residents had with the nearby no u-turn lane.
A difficult journey is always made more enjoyable and rewarding with friends.

-JAMUS LIM-The cloudy, rainy morning had fully passed by the time we met, and so our inaugural #SengkangGRC #RiverRun set off in dry but balmy conditions yesterday evening. Even so, we saw a good number of people exercising on the trail we took along the river. We had a neat mix of serious runners—while I turned with a small group around Northshore Cove, I heard that some others chose to continue on to Punggol Settlement—as well as casual ones, who joined us with their young children.
