The "43 folders" method

Without a good organisational system, ideas are easily forgotten and plans are not implemented. Using the "43 folders" method will enable you not to miss anything important.

You will need 12 large folders, one for each month. Then you add 31 folders for each day of the month (for a total of 43 folders) and number them. These 31 folders are then placed in order inside the folder for the current month, followed by the 11 folders for the other months.

To make this system work efficiently:

Allocate space and structure it by creating the desired number of folders;
Put each record in the space provided for it;
Plan a date when you can give yourself enough time to think about an idea in detail;
Set weekly "reminders" so that you don't forget which days and about which ideas you need to do something;
Develop the habit of going through the contents of folders every day.

Assertiveness

A very important personality trait in today's world, which implies confident and dignified behavior in defending one's interests without infringing on the rights of others.

For instance: a person is offered a service over the phone that he does not need. The wrong answer will be an insulting or rude one: "Leave me alone, I don't have time!" Assertive: "Thanks for the offer. I don't need it."

Gantt Chart

This is a project management tool that illustrates a project plan.

It usually consists of two parts:
The left side shows a list of tasks.
The right side shows a timeline with bars that depict the work.

A Gantt chart may also include start and finish dates for tasks, milestones, dependencies between tasks, and performers.

There are two main reasons why Gantt charts are so popular in project management

They simplify the creation of complex plans, especially those that involve multiple teams and varying deadlines.

Gantt charts help teams plan for deadlines and allocate resources properly.

Is procrastination laziness?

Definitely not.

There are some similarities between these phenomena. For example:

In both cases the person does nothing.
In both cases the problem lies in the area of motivation.
Both lead to trouble.

However, there are many more differences between laziness and procrastination.

Procrastination is intentionally delaying accomplishing a task, but laziness isn’t something you intended on feeling.

It is important to distinguish between laziness and procrastination because it determines the algorithm for further action.

If we are dealing with laziness, we should be concerned about self-motivation methods and proper goal-setting.

If we are faced with procrastination, we should analyse the situation and reconsider our approaches to work.

Fear of criticism. How do you fight it?

First of all, you need to stop being ashamed of yourself and start working with your inner vulnerability. To do this, you have to go back in time to find the words and situations that caused your current insecurities.

Write down on a piece of paper all the offensive remarks and try to dispute them.

People can say anything, if you think their words are true — you react, if not — calmly pass by. Your emotion is your own choice.

Remember that other people's disapproval is not your problem, just an outside opinion!

Achieving more = learning to think big

It's like kids: they grow out of their shoes to run even faster in the next. Catch the tips to help you "run faster" toward your goals:

Change your framed attitude to a winner's attitude.

Instead of "I could do it, but..." — "I will definitely do everything I can to make it happen."

Believe that fortune is on your side.

Confidence in your role as a favorite of fortune will help you not give up at the first difficulties. Without which there is no success.

Reconsider your surroundings.

Change it if you feel it's dragging you down: uninspiring, devaluing, or just set up for a wave of failure.

Don't waste time.

Every day look for new things, learn, expand your horizons.

Watch what you say out loud.

We program ourselves for good luck or bad luck. So get the words like "impossible", "hard", "can't do it" out of your vocabulary.

One new activity minus one old one

Your schedule is not a rubber one. You can't just throw new things into it expecting to get everything done.

When committing to new things, people don't think about it.

Idea: The cost of doing things in hours and percentages.

The next time you take on a new case, add the following phrase to it: "It's going to cost me so many hours". It's also useful to count it as a proportion of your non-work time if the case is not work-related.

For example:
French courses are $50 and 1.5 hours per class (25% of my spare time per day).

By pricing yourself this way, you will find it easier to turn down things that are clearly not helping you move towards your goal.

365 Steps

Do something every day.

Make it a rule of thumb to take at least one step each day that will move you toward success. Even if it's a five-minute thing, never let it pass you by.

Even if it's a day off and you're too lazy — get up and do something. There are 365 days in a year. If you take 1 step each day, that will be 365 steps.

Gradually it will train your self-discipline, motivate you and raise your self-esteem.

So take a step toward your success every day.

We need to change actions, not ourselves

We can't get out of some habits because we are emotionally involved in those actions.

A smoker doesn't just smoke cigarettes. His whole personality is built around smoking. This habit changes his social life, affects his eating and sleeping, and his view of himself and others.

If such a person wants to quit smoking, he will have to rebuild his entire personality — the relationships and habits that have developed over the years.

To get rid of some habit, recognize that your personality — that complex thought structure created by your brain and called "me" — doesn't really exist.

There are no smokers — there are people who choose to smoke. There are no unproductive people — there are those who do useless things so far.

To change, you have to modify your actions. Gradually, one thing at a time. Forget the labels. Don't make a fuss about who you are or what others think of you. Because few people think about you.

5 things that quietly kill your productivity

Perfectionism. Yes, you can always improve something, but don't overdo it. It's better to regularly produce something imperfect than to produce nothing at all.

"Organisational sludge". These are those task management system goals that you're two weeks overdue and haven't accomplished.

Too many sources of inspiration. Different people work in different fields and live different lives. You shouldn't listen to everyone at once. Pick your own and work towards that particular one.

Believe that you are the exception to the rule. No, you probably won't be able to remember and do all 20 things you need to do today unless you write them down and make a detailed plan. This is self-defeating.

Not being able to acknowledge and adapt to delays in your work.
