A Daily Devotional for March 12, 2021

Read Colossians 1:10

From studying the genesis of human beings, we find that the first thing man heard from God was to be fruitful. All throughout the bible, we find that fruitfulness is mentioned several times for various dimensions. However, given that our life has in it multiple layers, fruitfulness can be relevant for each.

As believers, we all start with what we have been given. God’s word doesn’t tell us that we all start equal or have the same potential. However, it does make it clear that our maker expects fruitfulness from all of us.

Jesus said, “This is to my father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” Jn 15:8 

By observing nature we can understand that fruitfulness doesn’t come simply; rather the caretaker has to look after it properly. The book of proverbs paints a good picture of what happens in the absence of good stewardship; “I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.” Pr. 24:30

By the same token, the deposit in our lives has to be tended that it may be fruitful. When our minds are not made captive of the lord, the enemy sows many thoughts that take us away from fruitfulness.

In Genesis 49:22, we find that "Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall.”

Examining his life, we can see how he escaped unfruitfulness. His life seems both a victim of a family decision and a victim of the bosses’ decision. He could have allowed himself to wallow in passiveness and live depressed. If it was today, we wouldn’t even be surprised if he became suicidal; but yet Joseph chose to be with the Lord and served with all that he had.

I imagine his attitude was to do his best with what he had and depend on God for all the unproductive memories and uncertainties he may have; after all, he didn’t have clarity on Gods ultimate plan or time.

Joseph was not negligent; he was a good steward that the bible calls him a “fruitful and successful man.”


Life Application
What is holding me from being fruitful? Is it laziness? hurt? Ignorance? Am I neglecting the holy spirit?

መጋቢት 2/2013 ዕለታዊ ቃል
1 ሳሙኤል 10፡ 9-1፣ ሮሜ 12፡ 2ን አንብቡ



አዲአርሶ አደሩ በአንድ ወቅት በድርቅ ወቅት መጠቀም የሚያስችለውን የዝናብ ውሃ የሚያጠራቅምበትና ይሚያቆይበት አሰራር ነበረው። የውሃ ማጠራቀሚያዎችን ገንብተው የዝናቡን ውሃ ይሰበስቡና ያጠራቅሙ ነበር። ስለዚህ ጥያቄው ዝናብ በወቅቱ መኖሩ ብቻ ሳይሆን አርሶ አደሩ ምን ያህሉን የዝናብ ውሃ አቆይቶታል? የሚለው ነው።

ሳውል ስለራሱ ስራ ብቻ የሚያስብ ተራ ሰው ነበር፤ እናም ይህ ከመለኮት ጋር መገናኘቱና መነካካቱ ሕይወቱን ከመሰረቱ ለወጠው። እሱ ንጉሥ መሆን በጭራሽ አስቦ አያውቅም። ነገር ግን በሆነ መንገድ እርሱ በትንቢታዊ እጣ ፈንታው ላይ አረፈ። እግዚአብሔር ልቡን ቀየረ። እርሱ ካሁን በፊት ሆኖ በማያውቀው ሁኔታ ተሰማው፤ አሰበ፤ ፈለገ፤ እናም ተናገረ። ግን የሳኦልን የሕይወት ፍፃሜ ስናይ በዕለት ተዕለት ሕይወቱ ያንን ሁሉ መንፈሳዊ ልምምድ ማቆየት እንዳልቻለ እናያለን።

ሮሜ 12፡1 በመለወጥ ሂደት እንድንቀጥል ይነግረናል። በአይምሯችን መታደስ መለወጥ እንጂ ይህን አለም እንዳንመስል ይነግረናል።

ከመለኮት ጋር መገናኘትና ትንቢታዊ ቃል ማውጣት፤ አስደናቂ ተስፋን ከጌታ መቀበል ታላቅ ነገር ነው። በመንፈስ መውደቅ/መባረክ እና ከተፈጥሮ ውጭ የሆኑ ግንኑነቶችን ማድረግ ድንቅ ነገር ነው። ነገር ግን እንደ አማኝ ይህንን መንፈሳዊ እሳት ግለቱ ሳይበርድ እንዴት ማቆየት እንደምንችልና በመለወጥና በማደግ መቀጠል የምንችልበትን ሁኔታ መማር አለብን። በኮንፈረንስ ወይም በእሑድ አገልግሎት ከሚሆነው በላይ፣ በየቀኑ የምንመገበው ቃሉ እና ከእርሱ ጋር የሚኖረን ቀጣይነት ያለው ህብረት ነው መንፈሳዊ እሳቱን የሚያቆይልን። ስለዚህ ከጌታ ጋር ባለን ህብረት እንድናድግ የሚረዱንን የዕለት ተዕለት ህብረት፤ ጸሎት፤ አምልኮ፤ እና የቃል ጥናት ልምድ ማዳበር አለብን። የእግዚአብሔር ቃል እውነት አስተሳሰባችንን እና ባህሪያችንን በየቀኑ እንዲያድስ መፍቀድ አለብን።

የሕይወት ተዛምዶ
ከጌታ ኢየሱስ ጋር ህብረት የምታደርጉበትና ይህን ልምድ የምታዳብሩበት በቀን ውስጥ የተወሰነ ጊዜ መድቡ።

ፀሎት
ጌታ ኢየሱስ ሆይ፣ እኔ አንተን መምሰል እፈልጋለሁ። ቃልህንና ጸጋህን በህይወቴ ማቆየት እንድችልና በዘላቂነት አንተን እየመሰልኩ እንዳድግ እባክህ እርዳኝ። አሜን! Open / Comment

A Daily Devotional for March 11, 2021
Read 1 Samuel 10:9-13, Romans 12:2



There is a practical way a farmer collects rainwater for continuous usage of the rain that pours in one season for a drier season. They build cisterns and collect the water. So, the question is not only about having rain in a season but about how much of it has a farmer retained?

Saul was a simple man, minding his business and this Divine encounter completely changes his life radically. He never thought about being a king but somehow, he landed on the prophetic destiny. God changed his heart. He felt, thought, desired and spoke like never before. But when we see the end of Saul’s life, we learn that He couldn’t sustain all that spiritual experience in his day to day life.

Roman 12:1 tells us to continue to be transformed. To not conform to the patterns of this world but be renewed in our mind.

It is awesome to have divine encounters and prophetic utterances and amazing promises from the Lord. It is wonderful to be slain in the spirit and have those supernatural encounters. But as a believer it is more important to learn how to sustain our spiritual fire and continue growing and transforming. More than what happens in a conference or a Sunday service, it is the daily collection of His word and a continuous fellowship with Him that sustains us. We have to build daily habits of devotion, prayer, worship and study scripture to help us grow in our relationship with the Lord. We have to allow the truth of God’s word renew our thinking and behavior daily.


Life Application
Set a portion of time every day and build a habit of fellowship with Jesus.

Prayer
Jesus, I want to be like You. Please help me retain Your word and grace so I can continue to be like You. Amen! Open / Comment

የየካቲት 30/2013 ዕለታዊ ቃል

ዘፍጥረት 15: 1-6ን አንብቡ



አዲሱን ጫማ በ60 የአሜሪካ ዶላር መግዛት እየቻላችሁ ጥቅም የዋለ ተራ ጫማ በ190,373 የአሜሪካ ዶላር ትገዛላችሁ? አንድ ሰው ግን ይህን አድርጎታል። ለምን? ይህ ስለጫማው ሳይሆን በጫማው ስለተደረገው ነገር ነበር። ጫማውን ማይክል ጆርዳን በ1984 በነበረው የኦሎምፒክ ጨዋታ የተጠቀመበት ጫማ ነው። በዚያ አሜሪካ ስፔንን 96 ለ 65 ባሸነፈችበትና የወርቅ ሜዳሊያ ባለቤት በሆነችበት ግጥሚያ ማይክል ጆርዳን ይህን የ60 ዶላር ጫማ ተጫምቶ 20 ነጥብ አስቆጥሮ ነበር።
 
በዘፍጥረት 15 ላይ እግዚአብሔር ለአብርሃም ልጅ ቃል ገብቷል። እግዚአብሔር ለአብርሃም የሰጠው ተስፋ የተለየ ነገር አለመሆኑን ለመቀበል ትንሽ ጊዜ መውሰድ እንችላለን? ይህ የባህር መከፈል ወይም ተራሮች መፍለስ አልነበረም። አብርሃም ልጅ ለመውለድ ብቻ የተስፋ ቃል ፈለገ! አብርሃም ሌሎች ሁሉ እንደ ቀላል ነገር በወሰዱት የተስፋ ቃል ላይ እምነት ሊያሳድር ይገባ ነበር። አብርሃም አንድ ልጅ ለማግኘት ጉጉ ሆኖ ሳለ የአብረሃም አገልጋዮች ልጅ መውለድን አላቆሙም። አብርሃም የሚሰማውን ተስፋ መቁረጥና መሳቀቅ መገመት ትችላላችሁ።
 
ግን ለምን? አንዳንድ ጊዜ “ተራ” የሚመስልን ነገር ለማግኘት በብዙ ነገር ውስጥ ማለፍ እንዳለብን ለምን ይሰማናል? ግን እንደ ተራ የምንቆጥረው ከተራነት ያለፈ ሊሆን ይችላልን? ከሳራ ማህፀን የሚወጣው ልጅ ብቻ ሳይሆን ህዝብም ነበር! እናም አብርሃምና ሣራ እንደዚህ ያሉ ከተለመደው ያለፉ መሰናክሎችን የገጠሙበት ምክንያት ጉዳዩ ከተራነት ያለፈ ተልእኮ ስለነበረ ነው። ግን የታሪኩን መጨረሻ የማወቁ ጥቅም እንዳለው መገንዘባችን ለእኛ ቀላል ነው።

"ቀላልና ጊዜያዊ የሆነው መከራችን ወደር የማይገኝለት ዘላለማዊ ክብርን ያስገኝልናል" 2 ቆሮንቶስ 4 17
 
በእኛ እና ቀደም ሲል በተጠቀሰው ገዢ መካከል ያለው ልዩነት ገዢው በተጠናቀቀ የታሪክ የመጨረሻ ገጽ ላይ የከፈለ መሆኑ ነው። ለተጠናቀቀ ታሪክ ዋጋውን ለመክፈል ፈቃደኛ ነበር። እግዚአብሔር ግን ባልተጠናቀቀ የታሪክ የመጀመሪያ ገጽ ላይ  እንድንከፍል እየጠየቀን ነው። እንድንከፍል የተጠየቅነው ገንዘብ በዶላር ሳይሆን በትእግስት፣ በእምነት እና በእምነት ነው። ስለዚህ፣ እግዚአብሄር በሰጠን የታሪክ ጅማሬ መጀመሪያ ገጽ ላይ ባለ ታሪክ(ተስፋ) እናምናለን? ወደሚለው ጥያቄ እንመጣለን። የምናምን ከሆነ ለታሪኩ(ለተስፋው) የምንከፍለውን ዋጋ ተገቢ/አሳማኝ ያደርገዋል።
 
የሕይወት ተዛምዶ
እግዚአብሔርን እንመን!
